I have to wonder what the Gators record would be if there was a strong offensive line. The teams that pass for a lot of yards against the Gators, the quarterback seems to have quite a bit of time to pass. They aren’t running for their life.

One thing that concerns me, if I read the lists right, is that the commits for 2024 have a number of defensive lineman, which is good, but I didn’t see many offensive lineman. Hopefully they will come in through the portal.

That was after he did crap with us.
He was still super respected when he was hired, and that was the question.

It'll have to. But the need for next year is desparate, IMO.

Got a feeling that we will need a splash hire at OC like LSU with Brady. We desperately need someone who knows how to put the opposing defense at a disadvantage, instead of trying to simply overpower them against a stacked box. Our offense just looks stagnant and unimaginative when we line up in the pistol and try to run it up the middle. Not calling for the air raid (though I'd love to see it), but I feel like our weapons on offense would be so much more effective if we could spread out the defense more.

The reason it worked at LSU was due to the fact Coach O was willing to change his philosophy on offense, just like Saban has done.

Also, they had Burrow, Jefferson, Chase. Talent overcomes coaching deficiencies. LSU quite possibly was the best CFB team of all time. What exactly is Brady doing now?

Ed Zaunbrecher! (I figured enough time has passed to maybe get a laugh)

FWIW, I think the Jeff Scott interest is mutual and he was very good at Clemson. But he basically wanted to go low key for a while and his wife loves being in Clemson, so they went back.

I don't think OC is the problem. We scored over 30 pts. To me biggest problem is our tacking RBs run right thru us.
With better Defense and OL we would have a very good OC.
I think he is a good OC that's not what lost this game. He put us in position to win with a FG that Smack makes 9 out of 10 times.

I don't disagree with anything you posted, except that Brady wasn't a splash hire at all. He was hired from the Saints as an offensive assistant to work with the OC. Ensminger was the OC.

That offensive line list is old. It shows Hevesy as our coach.

I think the idea is that an OC would help Napier to be able to focus on some other important details (ahem . . . ST just as one example). Agree with you that the offense is not the problem. 33 pts in regulation at home should win 99% of the time. We've got holes at LB, need 1.5 stud edge rushers, and too much youth on defense. Throw in continued failures on ST and here's your 2023 Gator football team.

If our offensive line play doesn’t get better, and personally I think it will, it will be hard for anyone to be highly successful as an OC for us.
CBN will make a good hire there if he thinks we need it, but it should be remembered we have a really good prospect coming in at QB who just happens to have been a huge asset in recruiting this amazing class that, as of now, we have committed. I would hate to see this class disintegrate because we start monkeying around with the coaching staff. It’s bad enough any recruits who look at certain social media sites are looking at a lot of negativity coming from Gator Nation. And the real kicker here is these few cry babies and negative Nellies don’t represent Gator Nation.

Billy's army should be working this NOW at DEFCON4. Imperative if he wants to make us a Top 4 SEC team again.

With the benefit of hindsight, it would appear that Frost's offensive success at UCF was due to Heupel.

Do coaches often reach into the future for success?

We don’t need to replace Billy, we just need him to steal success from the next guy!
