No, he loathes recruiting, why he will stay in the league. Miami threw a bunch of $$$$ at him and he didn’t blink.

Kade Bell is an interesting candidate, runs one of the best Offenses around, is a UF legacy, young(30) motivated, sounds like a fit.

Interesting. I’m sure Gator fans won’t be happy, but if we get Jeremiah Smith…

They don’t say it starts up front for nothing. Our offense is limited by our line. I too think it’ll look a bit different when we have a proper line.

And has no success at the P5 level...

Yep, he checks all the boxes for a Gator football hire.

We had a pretty damn good o line last year. Had the highest drafted QB since Spurrier and our offense last year was still substandard and his play calling was conservative and it seemed we made the same mistakes we did last year on offense including no hurry up offense, plenty of false starts, continuing to run plays which never seem to produce and mismanaging the last two minutes before half and end of game. No matter what there is a bunch of recurrent issues and while the o line improvement would help there is more going on here.

AR was not a very good quarterback. He has tons of potential and a exceptional arm, but as far as playing the quarterback position from the pocket. He has a long way to go. Had he started for three years in college it might be an entirely different story. Our offensive line last year was not great. It was decent. AR’s running ability masked whatever deficiencies we had but we still weren’t great upfront.

Agreed on AR at UF but for what time he played for the Colts he looked like a different player in the pocket to me. I dont know why his shortcomings in pocket passing here didn't seem to exist in his limited sample size in Indy. Either he matured a bunch, got routes which were better designed for him or got better coaching but he damn sure didn't have a line that did him any favors. The Colts line and skill players were pretty bad...as for our o line I thought it was one of our better units of the last decade here.

Id be overjoyed with Kade Bell- young, aggressive, smart… I’d much rather take my chances with someone who is young and aggressive than an old retread. I love what Armstrong has done - and he’s made mistakes - but he is malleable and young so he will figure it out and grow up with the players he’s coaching

Didn't guz malzahn come up from being a HS school to become an OC at an SEC school? Freeze too, here's a few current top OCs who came from a small school but have done just fine at the p5 level

    Will Stein, Oregon

Go watch UTSA’s 2022 game tape. Look at the offense, and how Stein puts the defense in constant conflict. Stein is 33, and he’s already on the fast track to a head coaching job. He was in high demand this offseason, despite only having 1 FBS season as an OC.

    Ben Arbuckle, Washington State

Only 3 years ago, Arbuckle was the OC at Seminole High School in Seminole, Texas. He spent 2021 as a offensive quality control coach at Western Kentucky before being promoted to OC in 2022. The Hilltoppers then finished 15th in the nation in scoring offense, and QB Austin Reed led the nation in pass yards (4,744) and was 3rd in TDs (40). You’re welcome, Cameron Ward.
    .Tim Cramsey, Memphis
Cramsey produced elite offenses at blue-blood FCS schools (Montana State, Sam Houston State) before taking the same job at Marshall 2018-21. Memphis was 22nd in the nation in scoring offense in his 1st season, an increase of 30 spots from 2021 (52nd in the nation). Tigers will be more dangerous this year in QB Seth Henigan’s 3rd season as a starter.
Amd just looking at Western Carolinas offensive stats this season in 10 games they lead in mostveverybrelevant offensive stat or 2nd or 3rd.
    They lead in
    Total offense (510ypg)
    Passing TDs (32)
    Passing yards (325 ypg)(13.9 ypc)
Rushing offense (187 ypg) (top 25)

    Scoring offense (39 ppg)

He leads or is in top 3 in all those categories plus others. Why do you think his offense won't work at the power 5 level? Sounds like what people were saying about Meyer and mullens offense when they were hired to UF from Utah.

We have had a pretty, sad decade. Even our best year with Trask he played hot potato with the football.

Who do you want that has had success at the P5 level and could realistically be a candidate?
