I think if the new Coach brought in a new staff and made Jimbo stand there and watch them that Jimbo would quit. At the very least they could work out a very reasonable exit check

It's a fun fantasy; I like seeing Jimbo get humiliated as much as anyone.

  3. I have no insight into the actual verbiage of the contract, but it probably specifies that services provided are as head coach or equivalent legal term.

We should get another energetic up-and-comer like we did for the defense in Armstrong. He is going to have elite defenses here as the current guys get more experience and we bring in upgraded talent. We need someone similar for the offense.

Anyone who can turn Bo Nix into a Heisman candidate is good enough for me. Give me the OC at Oregon.

That wasn't the the OC, that was putrid Pac12 defenses.

Well, I hear we are getting one next weekend, but I have to sadly report that our own fits neatly in that category too.

Still amazes me that the Bo Nix at Oregon is the same guy who was the quarterback at Auburn.

He's exactly the same guy when he plays a competent defense. See 2022 UO vs. UGa or UU.

Pass on Riley. He is about to be without a job at Clemson. Him and the new DC have done a terrible job.

Even without a buyout, I wouldn't take Fisher for any amount. I don't like the guy and he let an alleged rapist play on his team just to get a championship. SO NO FREAK'N WAY!

In all fairness some guys don’t pan out, but when you have the portal you have a lot more high level data to go on as opposed to a HS player.
One would think you can bolster the ranks easier than waiting for 3 cycles to recruit.
See LSU and FSU just off the top of my head.

That’s a very short sighted take ImHO, coaching changes are always tough, it would seem to me a worthwhile endeavor making an effort to keep decent players who came to UF to begin with yet are considering leaving due to a regime change.
Admittedly sometimes you can do everything and it still won’t matter.

I don’t remember so many players leaving in years past granted the portal has made it worse but many teams are using to their advantage..

Bobby Petrino comes immediately to mind. He is probably willing to do anything to be in charge of a program like A&M. He and Jimbo can switch jobs. If Jimbo doesn't like it he can come here and be an OC for about 100k. Just spitballing. :=)

Sure it’s easy to blame TOG but under Napier we have brought in 2 @ LB…
We are pretty thin there I think, that’s Mullen’s fault too I guess.
