Trump isn’t going to get an intelligent running mate who cares about their future in politics. His choice for VP isn’t going to move the needle in either direction.

I think he goes with the safe pick, Tim Scott. He adds very little, but other than his shiv in Haley’s back, he is non-controversial. And so he won’t distract from the ticket.

Trump might go with a Noem, to try and capture the suburban women’s vote, along with undecideds who like to look at her. She’s very MAGA, has some baggage and might be a little controversial.

Other than that, counting people who want to be Trump’s bitch, there’s not much there. Mega-MAGAs like Kari Lake would be far too distractive to the ticket and will lose him votes.
