key message… liberal woman are more likely to report having been diagnosed.

What is not described is that liberal woman may be more likely to actually go to a doctor.

Another irresponsible, inflammatory, DISHONEST subject line from this guy. He turns "more likely to seek mental evaluations" into "more likely to be criminally insane".

Right-wing extremists are clearly more violent. But they apparently fail to seek mental health evaluations to address their violent tendencies.

You're not wrong. But I'm looking at this somewhat differently. No mudslinging but just me speculating a bit in a detached way...

IIRC, multiple psych studies (not just recently) have found that liberals tend to score higher on neuroticism than conservatives; neuroticism being one of the Big 5 personality traits and associated with mental illness such as depression.

But if there is also some truth to conservatives being more likely than liberals to believe lies (and to report being happier & more religious), it has me thinking how these differences in tendencies between groups might explain each other?

Higher on neuroticism=Tendency to be...
more liberal, less religious, and less happy but less likely to believe lies

Lower on neuroticism=Tendency to be
more conservative, more religious, and happier, but more likely to believe lies

...and vice versa

Disclaimer: I'm treating these competing ideas or tendencies as having some validity--not stating them as facts or absolute.

According to Pew’s research white liberals/Democrats are much more likely than their conservative/Republican peers to have been diagnosed with one or more mental conditions. If you’re likely to have a mental condition, you’re likely to commit crimes.
It’s not a surprise at all.
