Surely, even SS can hear that cacophony of disgruntled Gator fans screaming for change in our football program.

LOL, I love Spurrier’s demeanor as much as anybody but he’s never going to show up another Gator coach by proclaiming his team sucks before they even step onto the field for a game. What program ambassador does that? And let’s not get carried away… it’s not like SOS predicted a 10 win season.

He would make a good high school coach/wood shop teacher/driver’ ed instructor.

Spurrier will say anything he wants to anyone he wants at any time. He always has and he always will. If he thinks something is wrong from the onset, he will tell you in no uncertain terms. He is the least politically-correct person on the planet.

Or hire someone to look in on practice that knows what he’s looking at if you don’t.

I guarantee you he has held his tongue. When he is in the stands shaking his head in disgust and disbelief, he never said half of what was going through his mind. He has displayed restraint with his tongue.

If he held his tongue, it was because he personally thought it was the right thing to do. He doesn't have to answer to anyone at his age and with his accomplishments. And, I think you are referring to Mullen days anyway.

He's made comments about the boatload of analysts and doesn't know why so many are necessary. He doesn't want to run down his alma mater or the current coaches. That isn't his style. You can usually tell when he is carefully considering his words, because he hems and haws a bit before he gives his thoughts.

No one predicted a ten win season, but he did say they were a good team. He could've said what he always said about his team in that they had a chance to have a good season, but he didn't. That's all he had to say as an ambassador. If he thought they looked like shit, he could've said they were going to surprise some people, and he'd have been 100% accurate. Unfortunately, the surprised people are Gators.

SOS is a straight shooter, we all know that. But he’s also a good dude, and good dudes aren’t going to through one of their own under the bus. He knows he doesn’t need to add on; that’s we the fans are for.

“Whoa, whoa, whoa….let’s not get these players too pumped up now, just calm down Steven.” - Billy Napier (probably)

Hbc did say that he had no idea what the army of analysts were doing and a large staff doesn’t mean success. We just choose to ignore.

I almost felt he was so fed up with Napier so he said he would win 9 games with the roster so that when he doesn’t we could ax him.

as for Shane he is always wrong in his assessment

What does it matter at this point? Doering, Mathews and Spurrier aren't coaching the team, and for sure aren't responsible for the garbage Napier has put on the field.

It doesn't, but it does beg the question of, "What did they see to make them confident that this was a good team?" Our expectations as fans were primarily based upon what we heard, since we didn't see what was happening pre-season.
