Lol. You guys both fail at maths. This is the middle of Biden’s 2nd year in office. You both need to (-1). Either way, I doubt Bannon can drag sentencing out even to the end of Biden’s 1st term. He took it to trial, so assuming conviction Im thinking jail time. With it being a misdemeanor charge I’d wonder what the maximum is, but hopefully the judge throws the book at him (can the judge take into account this guy was already pardoned for other crimes?)
It's funny what loudmouthed poop talkers these guys are until they have to be truthful under oath. Suddenly, they get as meek and silent as little lambs.
Bannon's closing arguments are no bueno so far. Per Glenn Kirschner twitter feed (copy and paste due to GC's twitter problem): "Defense attorney: Sure, on Jan. 5, Steve Bannon predicted all hell will break loose on Jan. 6, but so did lots of other people. Huh?" ---- "Defense attorney: ladies and gentlemen, you must give Steve Bannon the benefit of the doubt. Prosecutor: Objection Judge: Sustained" --- "Defense attorney just argued that maybe Rep. Bennie Thompson’s signatures on the subpoenas is “not legit.” And for that, the judge just called the parties up to the bench. The defense’s desperation hangs heavy in the courtroom air . . ." ------ "Defense attorney is attacking the credibility of witness Kristin Amerling, saying she has “an interest in the outcome of the case.” Um, all people who care about law & order, the health of our democracy, & holding Bannon accountable for his crimes have an interest in the outcome." ------ "Def atty: Ms. Amerling “rushed to judgment” & “wanted to make an example of Steve Bannon.” Well, making an example of someone who criminally defies congressional subpoenas then brags about & celebrates his defiance in social media, sound like … a good thing?" ------ "Def atty is now attacking Ms. Amerling’s “fairness” because she “spent 20 years working for one political party.”" ------ "Irony alert: Def atty just argued that Bannon testified previously before the Senate Intelligence Committee. He neglected to add: for which Bannon was referred by the bipartisan Intel committee for criminal investigation for perjury (a referral that died in Bill Barr’s DOJ)." -------- will update as he reports more.
next it will be the font was the wrong size or the prosecutor has the wrong color shoe laces or the process server had halitosis.
Yeah, this is embarrassingly catastrophic. I’m starting to change my tune now. Not sure how even the most obtuse of jurors could find a way out of a conviction. Apparently there is a minimum 30 days jail time. I assume the judge could suspend it or do something else to avoid actual jail. But Bannon’s other colossal mistake was being so threatening on his blowhard podcast toward the whole endeavor including the judge. Even Trump judges don’t like having the craziest people in society aimed directly at them by the nuts running the show.
Rick Wilson on a roll... "Bannon's funk has a kind of Proustian association with the grease trap at a strip club buffet."
All that being said, I hope the prosecutor and the judge have good security in case the maga mob comes after them.
Anyone catch the 60 minutes clip of Bannon crusing around the Hudson with that Chinese creep in that 500 million yacht smoking cubans, laughing at all the American "Suckers" that facilitated the Trump con.......... It made me want to puke then, it makes me want to puke now.......... I hope he meets Jeffrey Epsteins buddy in the hole............
In before maga world says it was rigged and that the judge, jury, prosecutor, and the guy who cleans the courtroom are all radical leftist pedophiles who hate America.
