Stetson Bennett arrested for public intoxication in Dallas, per report

Too much emphasis on QB’s that measure 6’5 with a howitzer arm and run like a scalded bird dog. Being a great athlete and passer doesn’t always translate into being a great, or even good QB.
Bob Griese led the Dolphins to 3 Super Bowls and won 2 of them. Dan Marino was possibly the greatest passer in NFL history but he was definitely not a great QB. Took the Dolphins to one and got shellacked.
I understand someone thinking Stetson Bennett’s success is in part because he is leading a team full of great college players, but I also feel like he is a tough, resilient football player and is deserving of any accolade’s he gets.

 

The days of 6’5” statues are gone. Kyler Murray is 5’10”, Russell Wilson is 5’11”, Jalen Hurts, Baker Mayfield and Tua are all 6’1”.

This isn’t about his height as much as it’s about his ability. He’s good in that he can extend plays but he needs to put up better numbers if he wants to get NFL attention.

 

SBIV shouldn’t win the Heisman and won’t get drafted. He did outperform Bryce Young last year and delivered a Natty. May do the same this year. He’s leading the team of the college he grew up loving. Sometimes that’s enough.

 

I will put $100 straight up that Bennett doesn't win the Heisman. In fact, I'll go $50 that he doesn't even get invited to the ceremony. You have Venmo?

 

Hooker had a higher completion % and threw for more yards vs a MUCH better defense than Bennett was facing

 

Sure thing mr. "This average QB with average stats is going to win the Heisman because his team is good."

 

You can't convince him though. He's been on a praise everyone but florida kick for a while now. Last positive thing wing said about the Gators and not rivals might have been during our baseball title lol. I love the fire that wing brings but he's been on a run for a while now

 

If I may opine, he should take the place of Belue as "The Noble Prince." He is exactly what college football legacy should be about.

Bennett - 68% (25 attempts) for 257 yrds, 0 INT, 2 passing TDs, 1 rushing TD

1.7% better, fewer yards on 8 more throws , 1 INT vs 0, 0 TDs vs 3 TDs…and you think Hooker was better??

 

Hooker would throw for 500 yards if he was against Tennessee’s defense

I didn't say better.....BUT the defenses each were facing were light years apart. You have to take that into account
