If UF does plan to release CBN someday they better have someone they want to hire locked up, and that’s going to cost money.
Let’s not try someone else, let’s buy someone else to be the next Head Coach. I mean go for the best. Or we will go thru this again and again.

I’m a Gator Fan no matter what.
I also have a good and happy life outside of Gator Football.
What Florida wants is what Florida gets.
    It is always that way.

He obviously can say what he wants but it’s no doubt detrimental to the program

My father was the harshest critic I ever had when I was doing something wrong, and no one was prouder when I succeeded. Mom just always supported everything, I guess you need both.

Anyone who would not be pleased with an 8-4 season is not to be taken seriously.

    3) Ok, we're headed in the right direction. Let's see what Lagway year 2 and an easier schedule looks like.

If you say something that everyone else is already thinking, have you actually made any impact?

Spurrier is getting older, but he is still sharp as a tack. He has forgotten more football than any of us will ever know. Also, his partner at Spurrier's Grille is the lead NIL guy with Florida Victorious. You can bet Spurrier knows exactly which players are getting it and exactly how much.
    Definitely

You're growing on me, Walrus. There was a time when I almost hit the "ignore" button on ya. I'm glad I didn't.

We have the talent compete but need a few to become All SEC caliber if we want 8 wins. We got this.

Dont kid yourself there is still 5 more top 10 teams they will add in the following years schedule. Georgia on the other hand will have those unsurprisingly removed.

Gator head I had season tickets when 0-10-1 unfolded. I am behind the Gators whenever they play, football, basketball and baseball and any other sport. Napier this year had some glaring gaffs in his play calling which caused us to lose. I get it he wants to be recognized as a bigtime OC in the SEC. But bottom of the ninth, two outs he elects to change all the coaches other than his play calling. We lose to Miami the hyenas will be circling. I think as a head coach without the play calling duties would help him have a long stay. But he elects to blame it on other coaches and retains the play calling, not very smart, but I will watch to his final play calling duties end, still a Gator, but his contract will reward even if he goes 3-9. Our AD doesn’t know football, so here we go again.
If we run a slow developing reverse on fourth down or even four straight bangs into the line of scrimmage at the opponents 10 yard line, we will be nearing the end of which the whole nation including Spurrier are chirping about. With all that said, if we are 1-4 or five to start the season, we will know it was a mistake on his part to change and we will be trying to save our integrity. How did we get here. It won’t matter, any coach in D1 should have the common sense when to change the way we approach winning football games. I will watch every game and keep the faith, but three seasons in a row will be an embarrassment. If this happens, we have to move on to someone who can keep pace with modern football. sometimes change is good if common sense is added in.

Well posted, not much to counter you with here, other than do what I'm going to do, which is to approach the coming season with excitment, in lieu of a Gottadumerung.

UF is playing just about everyone I would like to see the Gators play outside of USC, Notre Dame or OSU / Michigan.

    Think about the OPPORTUNITY bullish!!!

I mean right off the bat, I'm thinking of the recruiting ramifications of sweeping Miami, UCF and FSwho? Now THAT, would make the In State recruiting rather interesting, not to mention what knocking off a few SEC teams add to that scenario.

Hey, could be a bottom dweller too. If Napier beats the odds and UF busts out, well that would be faster than the entire coaching replacement process and all that a rebuild will entail.

Good post. Reality is, negative articles get the clicks. I didn't think SOS's comments were that bad. Mainly just stuff we all saw and scratched our heads about. I could really care less if Napier is making up position titles to justify salaries as long as the duties and lines of authority are clear to those within the organization. BN seems like the CEO type so I would be surprised if they aren't, but only those within the program will know.

As far as ETN, the way I look at it last year ETN>Trell in the open field. Trell > ETN in traffic and short yardage. There's a reason ETN wasn't used a lot in goal line and short yardage. I don't think there will be many times next year where we can point and say, "if only ETN didn't leave." That's not meant to be a knock on ETN, he's a talented back. Its just the state of the rb position nowadays in football and Napier actually runs a pretty good running scheme. Its like people think we'll replace him with guys who run 4.8s 40's. We have legit SEC talent in our rb room. The young guys will get an opportunity much like ETN did as a Fr.

Our season will rise or fall with the progress at lb and safety, not with who is running the rock. If we had just average consistency in play there this year, we're looking at least 3 more wins this year.

  17. Not much to add here. There is so much negativity around the Gator program that no matter what Steve Spurrier said it will be interpreted in the worst way. Oddly enough it seems as if the most positive comments about the Gator program come from Urban Meyer.

What an interesting time to be a Gator football fan.

How does 4 wins get him another year? That bar seems pretty low to me.

Half of this board might be able to pull that off given the opportunity.

I don't think group dynamics would have had any affect on the loss of the high ranking recruits (who became lesser ranked recruits over the course of the season) who bolted for more money elsewhere. We ended up getting very good replacements for them anyhow. I don't hold Napier under the microscope for how NIL is allocated. The quality he has gotten from high school in a full recruiting season speaks for itself with the play of true freshmen in the SEC.
