This whole thing is a hypothetical.
The whole premise of the thread is about if the Spurrier teams could have played in a 12 team playoff.
So if you don't like hypotheticals I'm not sure why you would participate.

    But back to Miami 01.
You say "they find a way to win every game."
So does that mean you think 84 BYU should have won the title over us in 84?
Do you actually think they could have beaten us??

"They won every game" is circular logic. It's silly and simple minded.
It completely ignores opponent quality and other nuances.
College football is not like the NFL- schedules vary a great deal.

So a 1-2 loss team in the SEC can beat an undefeated ACC or Big 10 team...

Agreed...I love hypotheticals...imagine if replay had been used to correct bad calls sooner than it was introduced. There would be so many game outcomes and national championships changed. One of the fun parts of being a fan of sports is the what if?

As silly and simple minded as it may sound, “Miami won every game” is factual logic. If ‘01 Miami was such an overrated team, someone would’ve snuck up on them and actually beaten them. No one did. That’s a fact. If ‘01 UF was such a great team that could have beaten ‘01 Miami, they would have taken care of business during the season and put themselves in a position to prove it. Instead they stumbled against a mediocre 7-5 Auburn team and against Tennessee. So UF couldn’t even take care of the business they needed to for the hypothetical Miami matchup to happen. These are facts. We can play the would’ve, could’ve, should’ve “if Spurrier had done this, if we didn’t have injuries, if the refs didn’t do this, if Bobby Bowden and FSU didn’t do this etc” game all day, but I’m going off what actually happened.
