I saw it the first time and the photo proves him wrong. Are you now going to tell me that the Twitter accounts you follow and bring to the board are Elite?

Cannot imagine someone trying to claim NK is not a failed state.

Never said I’d like to live there. But your sense of irony is dull …

SK is very sophisticated. Has already been squashed. Yoon will be on flight out soon seeking political asylum.

Oh it's real. And from our resident Traitor in Chief, no less. Guy just lives to run down the US and pump up every shit regime in the world.

Do you really believe that NK is politically stable if something were to happen to Kim Jun Un? The entire stability of the country hangs on the health of a morbidly obese man with terrible lifestyle choices.

I think there is a General (or Generals) who would step in and take over. . . and are probably running the country now.

Well. Its been recinded and riots are taking place.

South Korea's President Says He Will Lift Martial Law, After Protests: Live Updates - The New York Times

President Yoon Suk Yeol of South Korea said he would lift the emergency declaration of martial law he imposed on Tuesday as soon as he could convene his cabinet, bowing to pressure after the National Assembly passed a resolution demanding it end. By law, Mr. Yoon needs to convene his cabinet to lift martial law.

The announcement by Mr. Yoon early Wednesday in South Korea came five hours after he declared martial law late Tuesday night in an unannounced televised address, and soon after the assembly unanimously voted to rescind it, a swift rebuke of the president’s response to the political deadlock that has hobbled his tenure.

I believe the official line of succession is Kim Jun Un's sister until his child comes of age. I'm not sure that is going to fly in a patriarchal society like NK. So the idea that there is some sort of agreed upon succession plan is not realistic and shows how unstable that country really is.

This is basically the problem with any presidential system, you can have president and a congress that are at complete odds, and either can abuse that if so inclined. There is one neat trick to solve this, and its called a parliamentary system. :)

Nothing to see. China/taiwan is the much bigger issue

IMO, they're just figureheads and there is a cadre behind the scenes running things. JMHO, but I don't see that dolt running anything, even a backwater country like NK.

Also, I've heard she is a terrifying figure.

More of a hunch and a "My Strengths vs. Your Weaknesses" thing. If I'm China, and I want a showdown where my strengths (manpower, distance, logistics) play against the US's weaknesses (manpower, distance, logistics), then Korea is the battleground. Taiwan actually plays to some of our strengths (Navy) and would be a tough task even without our jets, missiles and SUBMARINES mucking things up.

Yeah that was kind of my point upthread about him doing this without the military backing. If you're gonna try a coup you need the guns.

China continues to build up so that they can military compete and take Taiwan. Its not an overnight task, still got a few more years for them to reach their military goals.
