I would wager a majority of Christians in Florida support the Parental Rights in Education Act.

"The Disney CEO at the time, Bob Chapek, caved to a small but vocal group of Disney employees that took issue with parental rights in education bill and vowed to use the full weight of the company to overturn the law and to deny support for Florida Republicans in the future." For those unfamiliar with Florida politics, this represented an unprecedented move for the company that has a history of getting along with Florida Republicans and also getting whatever it wanted from the legislature.

    ***

The author linked to a Politico article quoting the former CEO saying Disney planned to suspend campaign donations and review its donations to ensure alignment with its values. I don't think it's accurate to characterize that as a vow to cut off Republicans. The author notes that Disney has had a history of "getting along" with Florida Republicans. That's one way to put it. He didn't mention how much Disney gives to Republicans including $50,000 to DeSantis (again, at least according to the Politico article that the author linked).

The author argues that homosexuality was not mentioned in the bill. We heard this argument before. Technically true but disingenuous. It used the phrase sexual orientation. The author says later in the article that this is about Disney's plan "to inject its left-wing ideals into Florida schools and law." Is sexual orientation inherently left-wing? No. We all know what's going on here. On his Twitter, the author accused journalists of supporting pedophilia, echoing the sick rhetoric of DeSantis' press secretary.

Not trying to shoot the messenger here. He's a Christian and an outspoken DeSantis supporter. That's fine. But I feel like these folks won't just come out and say that they have a problem with homosexuality. It would save us a lot of time.

That's an interesting way of saying: "I was wrong, and I didn't see the link because I ignored the poster who posted it."

It takes a real lack of self awareness to claim that free speech violates the principles of free speech. "Free speech means you're not allowed to say unkind things to me!" And straight lol if you think "the founders" looked down on saying unkind things in political debates.

No, using free speech to intimidate and ruin the lives of everyone to the right of Hillary Clinton into political silence violates the principles of free speech.

Also, I'm waiting for your response to the rest of my post.

Your failure to provide reference to a quotation that comprised the complete majority of your post hardly will qualify as my mistake regardless of how ignorant the quote.

Perhaps if the poster would consider using facts from reliable sources, it might be a start. SMH

WRT to the using “sexual orientation” as the code word … and I’ve asked this question before…. We’re books banned that made references to male/female, husband/wife, mommy/daddy relationships?…. Of course not… just the gay stuff.

Contrary to your high opinion of yourself, you are not the arbiter of "reliable sources."
