Yes Tre and Pretty Ricky are exceptional talents in their own right, but the development of (pre injury) Caleb Douglas, Jackson coming along, Burke (when he’s healthy), Jean (when he’s healthy), show that although Billy G on a one year contract, he still hasn’t lost his touch on development. The numbers aren’t “great” outside of Pretty Ricky, but the eye test shows they’ve gotten better each week

    Kudos to him

Billy G has always been a great coach. Personally, my only hangup was his recruiting. I'd love for him to prove me wrong on that

Billy (N) said Jackson was playing well enough to move him outside. Listening to Shane, he said he thought he would be better inside because he doesn't have the speed or the wiggle for playing outside. Thoughts?

Pleasantly surprised and happy for Khaleil Jackson. The kid has talent…can’t believe he was a walk-on.

KJ seems like a guy who isn't the best athlete, yet he still gets open and catches anything near him. Sounds like a productive WR to me.

Willie definitely taught the young man to catch! His dad had great hands and was a great possession receiver. Happy to see Kahleil carrying on the family tradition. :)

I used to play video games with Willie Jackson at the arcade next to the purple porpoise. lol. Willie was a great receiver, but he sucked at street fighter.

What about him seems like he isn't the "best athlete"? Have you watched him play? Seems to me that making great plays is the very definition of great athlete, but perhaps you have a different definition. Star rankings most likely.

    Goo goo ja goob!

I'm glad you started this thread, Bobby. I was thinking about this yesterday and was wondering why no one has given Billy G. proper respect (props) for his teaching skills... Our receivers are far better than we knew.

Now that we've uncorked the passing game we can start to see just how talented these receivers really are, and part of that has to do with their coach, Billy G..

We have a far better receiving corps than I thought we had, and next year only adds to that talent and speed. Can't wait...

Boardingham is a perfect example of good coaching and that was on Billy to get him up to speed. Along with Jackson, Wilson, Hanson, they all look far better and more productive than I thought they would.

Billy G’s receivers are expected to block downfield. Have always loved that part

Billy G issue has been recruiting. Wilson, Jean and Mizzel were prior WR coach, as was Ricky. Will this year’s WR recruits be equally good, fast, athletic. Billy G was bringing in the Fraziers and Whittemore types his second tour with UF under Mullen his last few recruiting classes. Height but not a lot of speed.

That catch of Jackson's can go on a highlight reel beside Pearsall's one hander.

He might be a better hire than AA.

Not going to overreact and judge anyone's recruiting under Mullen's lazy arrogance.

If an assistant can't recruit under Napier he gone.

Words have meaning. Wilson IMO is more athletic, therefore KJ in can not be the best. That does not exclude him from being good or even great.

For someone who complains about negativity you sure do assume the worst of everything people on here say.

I could be wrong but I believe that was a function of Mullen's preference for a certain type of receiver. It seems to me BN is trying to make that unit faster and I think that reflects on the recruiting strategy in terms of who to even offer.

The sideline catch he made in the Tenn game was a thing of beauty where his feet were inches from the sideline and caught the ball falling out of bounds.
