Just more of the strange things at Bama. She left the team in February or early March.

Sad, but not surprising. She seems to be the odd lady out in the way things worked out this year and are shaping up for next year.

she just never lived up to her HS reputation. Still CTW must be planning on bringing in a ton of transfers

What size of a roster do you see for 2024? CTW will have to bring in a lot of transfers. Just about every FR might be starting. And I don't think you can afford Kistler and Goelz in the lineup at the same time.

Right now the Gator roster has Avery Goelz, Reagan Walsh, Skylar Wallace, Emily Wilkie, Olivia Gigante, Kaila Pollard (hurt much of the season), Kendra Falby, Katie Kistler, Baylee Goddard (hurt) and 6 incoming freshmen. Lots of work for Tim Walton to do in the next couple of months.

Just never understood why she was in and out of the lineup so much. Softball and baseball require a level of predictability and not the constant uncertainty.

Did she announce it on instagram? I only have twitter and I haven't seen anything from Olivia yet.

Very concerning. She was a finalists her junior year as high school player of the year. Was everybody wrong and she wasn't that great or was she not properly coached or developed. Either way TW has some egg on his face on this one.

I don't have the answers. Possibly nobody does. Thankfully, Sam is one of the last recruits that committed before the rule change when they were very young. Too young to recruit and too young to commit in my opinion. Also, doesn't seem like entering a year early did her any good. While her average was pretty good this year, her power numbers were very surprisingly low, and her defense in the infield was suspect. Why leave now? Don't know. Could be she was unhappy with getting sporadic time this year. Perhaps she was told it was unlikely to change.

She shared catching duties last season with Wilkie, then Langley got put in the position this year over both of them. That had to hurt. Apparently, she didn't develop a good enough throw to 2nd from behind the plate and her times playing 2nd or 3rd weren't very good, although the sample size was small. With the elite catcher and quality infielders coming in this summer/fall, she either saw not much opportunity for increased playing time or was told as much in her exit interview. Best wishes to her, wherever she ends up.

Rene Lastres just entered the portal, was the #3 catcher in the country out if high school and an elite prospect. Does Sully have egg on his face on this one?

I would think being from Florida you could tell the difference between apples and oranges.

Yeah, huge disparity between two elite catchers that spent two seasons at UF before entering the portal

I was merely showing in today's game kids enter the portal......CTW has Roe and Sully has Lastres with fairly similar backgrounds, timing, and playing situations. I disagree with the prior statement that a coach has egg on their face when a highly recruited player leaves....because every coach on the planet has had that occur
