Wow. Korbe wants to be a cardiothoracic surgeon. I don't even know what that is. All ACC Freshman last year. All-American this year. Louisville’s Korbe Otis eyeing career as surgeon after softball
Also seems coachable. Freshman: .289 average, 5 HR, 30 RBIs, .333 OBP, 11 BB, .476 Slugging Sophmore: .414 average, 10 HR, 43 RBIs .502 OBP, 30 BB, .702 Slugging
She was their leadoff hitter. Just in the regional alone this year she went in the three games 6-11 with 4 rbis, a home run, a double, and a run scored.
Hold onto your socks, kids...Korbe is a real one. I went through Louisville's entire year and only counted games against the better teams...UK, MO, Wisc, NW, UCF, Duke, ND, IU, OU, UVA, FSU...that was 30 games. She is just totally consistent. In those 30 games she went hitless only four times. She clearly performed better against the better competition. In those games she went 45-96 (.469) with 24 runs scored, 20 rbis, 6 doubles, 4 triples (obviously, she can motor), and 5 home runs. (Her rbi totals are really large for a leadoff hitter.)
More in depth article about Otis' goals. UF's Medical School could be another reason she chose to come here. Louisville's Korbe Otis Surgical at the Plate and in Her Future
Yep. Often a number of things need to come into play. Which is why I hope Vawter wants to go to Vet School.
I would like to pat myself on the back for being three days early on this one. I also have a lotto ticket for tomorrow and I will be back to gloat about that also if it hits. Go Gators!
Pitching coach and 3 pitchers coming right up. I read a couple of days ago that Vawter is supposed to be in Tallahassee this weekend. Lynch is from Newnan, Georgia. Have seen nothing on her. Would love to have either one, but Vawter is better. That pitcher from Wisconsin would be a nice get as well - Patyn Monticelli.
If I had a clue, I'd be happy to share. But count me in among the optimists. I think we get at least one really good pitcher and a couple more good hitters. Probably not Skylar Wallace caliber, but I think we'll do okay. Also, I hate LSU. I will be watching the game tomorrow with my 2017 National Championship shirt on. We need to beat the crap out of them.
So, just kill me now if Vawter goes to FSU. I have always thought Lynch was a great fit both for us and her but that and a dime won't get me a cup of coffee. What scares me the most about Lynch, as I said before, is that UGA is a totally different ballgame now for her than when she came out of high school. Baldwin is good, he's improving them, and she knows him from USA National. Vawter would be great. Lynch is important.
Vawter is a Stanford grad looking for a graduate degree in Engineering. I thought the only engineer degree FSU offered was a certificate to be a train conductor.
