No idea. This isn't my area of expertise. I don't know what laws would be on point here (if any).

The gubmnt official in charge of the contract used to work for sleaze1. He authors and sends language to be included in the RFQ response to the sleaze1 bidder on a private email account. Former employer, sleaze1, instantly with woefully incomplete application (2 bidders, neither met DOT criteria listed to be considered as qualified). Incomplete responses are considered non-responsive. That is the law with FDOT. This scope, by law, should have been rebid. Not onlyw as it immediately awarded, the prices are grossly inflated. It would have been cheaper per person to rent NetJets for the night.

If this is properly investigated, this is highly illegal bid rigging by someone very close to DeSantis. Not to mention that it doesn't meet the criteria of the law to be funded, ie the immigrants must originate in Florida, not pass through.

Am DeSantis aide — using alias ‘Clarice Starling’ — helped ex-client bid on migrant flights missing something?

Here's the issue, I don't know if he has broken federal law. If he has broken state law, does anybody trust Ashley Moody to go after a DeSantis ally? I don't. And I'm not sure if this would fall within the jurisdiction of Jack Campbell (the SA in Tallahassee). Even if it did, who knows if Campbell would want to risk it when DeSantis has already shown he'll remove state attorneys on BS pretenses and install his allies?

It’s plainly a violation of public records laws. He also lied under oath, as established by today’s story in the Times. And let’s talk about what’s not illegal but it’s incredibly creepy. Using the moniker “Clarice Starling”, especially when you look like Buffalo Bill

Vertol owner was operating helicopter training school out of Destin providing DOD services. They refused to pay for county business license..unreal, only the best

Helicopter company operating out of Destin Jet in county's crosshairs (staugustine.com)

The dispute between the county and Vertol involves the company's Department of Defense contracted training of helicopter pilots. County Airports officials have notified Vertol President James Montgomerie that his business is required to have a Board of County Commissioners approved agreement to operate.

Montgomerie, county documents indicate, "feels his (sublease) agreement with Destin Jet is sufficient and does not believe he needs to pay a fee to the county for the privilege of operating his business on county property." Montgomerie, who when contacted Friday denied any knowledge of a dispute - "I'm unfamiliar with what you're talking about" - has been adamant in his stance, county documents indicate.

Montgomerie "indicated if he has to pay (county fees) out of his DOD work he would leave the county," Okaloosa County Airports Director Sunil Harman told county commissioners in correspondence regarding the Vertol issue.

"I informed him that was his prerogative," Harman said.

His speech today. Why is it so hard for him just to be a decent person? Why can't he be gracious during the time of gigantic success? He just wants to foment hate.

I'm asking rhetorically. I think I know the answers to those questions. He's both a product of his time, and this is what his base wants, and he also just seems to have a certain internal darkness.

wow, no attempt at intimidation here. are they required to respond by such requests or does the request have to come from the board that oversees the colleges?

does DeS not know or not care how supporting a culture of intolerance will influence college rankings across the state?

he is doing a very good job of alienating the middle and trying to take the trump lane which I suspect most others are willing to concede to him as that lane doesn't have enough traction wo win the general and I suspect the primary voters even recognize that at some point

Gotta rid education in Florida of "woke" ideology. And what does "woke" mean? Let's ask DeSantis's General Counsel: "It would be the belief there are systemic injustices in American society and the need to address them." Can't have people in universities discussing and debating systemic injustices in America and how we address them. I'm so glad DeRacist is here to stop free speech from happening.

Won't happen. There are rules that protect him from sitting for depositions and having to testify. It's why his subordinates were there answering questions.

because you can't change thigns from the outside and I like where I live in spite of the political influences here right now. Both my daughters are likely leaving Florida though as they do not want to be subject to this sort of nonsense. I equate it to why I changed my registration back to Republican. If I don't I can't vote in primaries and extremist ideas just gain more power and influence. It would be very smart of lots of indy's and dems to do the same thing to try and recover the party.
