    in full on campaign mode

Sued FDA for failing to approve Canadian drugs for import and openly calls for IRS audits for everybody that voted for the recent bill (I refuse to call it the inflation reduction act as that is a farce the dems shouldn't have used).

He has no shame or reservations about weaponizing the IRS. I would like to say I am surprised but I'm not.

I guess this will limit the election fraud to the Villages. I wonder if DeSantis will call a PC for this. another deTrumpian maneuver that produced red meat without the meat

Cases against 20 arrested voters in Florida on shaky legal ground. State issued them voter IDs (msn.com)

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Two weeks after Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and the state’s top election officials stood in a Broward County courtroom and announced the arrest of 20 people for voting illegally, the state’s case is starting to fall apart.

The announcement was the first initiative of the governor’s Office of Election Crimes and Security, and it targeted people disqualified from voting because they’ve been convicted of murder or sexual assault. “They’re going to pay the price for it,’’ the governor promised.

But in the face of a stream of conflicting messages coming from the governor and state elections officials and the prospect of no immediate fix to the state’s confusing system for felons to regain their voting rights, advocates are urging those arrested to fight the charges. The Senate sponsor of the legislation that implemented the felons voting law has concluded that “now a million-dollar operation” of the Office of Elections Crimes and Security may ultimately produce no convictions.

“The more that comes out on the arrests, the more I believe the individuals involved had no knowledge or intent to violate the law,’’ wrote Sen. Jeff Brandes, the Republican from St. Petersburg and Senate sponsor of the law that implemented the felons voting law, in a post on Twitter.

Peter Schorsch Is likely correct. DeSantis will probably use a grand jury report saying that the school systems are not safe from shooters to replace the elected school board members with MAGA types. It's so frustrating that gun violence is used to justify advancing the political interest of those who won't try to stop gun violence.

It's somewhat analogous to the way that police violence against black people is defended. Because there are so many guns, the police always say that they're justified in using excess deadly force against black people, because they fear guns.

DeSantis drops out of debate. This is normally something you only do when you're way ahead. He certainly ahead and should be favored, but I thought it was a bit closer than this unless he's got private polling which makes him feel like he can do this without risk. Then again, he is always the type of guy who doesn't like it when people can talk back

This is more authoritarian behavior. What DeFascist is doing is overturning school board elections when he doesn't like the result.

Gillum, personal demons and all, did hand Ron his arse in 2018 in the debates.

From a DeSantis fundraising email. He's No. 1 on the leftist media hit list ... Who does this sense of personal grandeur remind you of?

BTW, have y'all seen the anti-Demings ads? They keep playing during football. I must underestimate how stupid people are. Because Rubio is really running ads about drugs coming across our border from China and blaming Demings, a Congresswoman from Florida, for it. He must think people will believe it.

School Board intimidation works. Dade County reverses itself, will end LGBTQ History Month. Insecure young men will be able to compensate through bullying, and the true teachings of Jesus to hate the marginalized will. Be paramount

After a rowdy six-hour meeting Wednesday, the Miami-Dade School Board voted 8-1 to block a measure that affirmed the county’s commitment to ensuring the safety of all students — including those who identify as gay, lesbian, transgender or nonbinary — and recognized LGBTQ History Month as “an effective means of educating and calling to action our community to work together by fighting prejudice and discrimination.”

The resolution also would direct the schools superintendent to explore providing 12th grade teachers with resources to educate students on the 2015 U.S. Supreme Court decision that legalized same-sex marriage as well as the legal precedent for anti-discrimination laws. Teachers in lower grades would be free to reiterate “respect and support for LGBTQ students.”

The school board’s vote against the measure, which comes just one year after the body approved a similar resolution by a vote of 7-1, highlights the rapidly shifting political landscape in Florida as conservative parental rights groups have mobilized to erase any discussion of topics such as gender and racial inequality in school.

And if anyone is wondering what he means, here's the full quote:
Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis says Republicans are approaching big business all wrong: 'Corporatism is not the same as free enterprise'
"There's some people that criticize us in Florida because we've taken action to stand up to big tech companies," DeSantis said Sunday evening. "They say you know what, it's private. Let them do what they want to do. First of all, they cannot be viewed as private entities given that we know without a shadow of a doubt they are doing the regime's bidding when it comes to censorship."
    ---------------------------------------------------------
He's defending the social media law that the courts struck down for violating the First Amendment. Even the conservative Eleventh Circuit said the law violated the First Amendment's Free Speech Clause. But hey, it's not like the First Amendment or free speech are important, eh? (Certainly not to the authoritarianism-loving losers who fawn over DeSantis.)
