And yet, they re-elect and elect all of the same people who will try again and again until they succeed. Either Republicans are the stupidest people on planet earth (I do not believe that of all of them at least) or they agree with the policies their representatives put forth.

His first term is generous, in my opinion. He was fantastic when he started - he had no fear of crossing party lines or platforms. Then Covid happened. And then the louder he cried foul on Covid, the more adulation he received. And then he started down the path of his War on Culture and his Campaign against everyone thinking/looking/believing differently than himself. I’ve never seen a governor wield so much power and execute it so shamelessly and uncontrollably.

I think what differentiates him from Trump is that DeSantis is a true believer in his hate policies.

Is he though? If he was in the past, he didn't say it in public. He was a pretty bland and boring rank and file Republican as a congress member for three terms.

He was boring enough that until he beat Putnam, I didn't have any idea who he was.

The Florida NAACP has also called for a travel advisory. So it's not just LGBTQ groups doing it. DeSantis's Florida is a haven of bigotry.

Agree, thanks for educating me. However, DeSantis cannot openly go after blacks. The LGBTQ community, and specifically the Trans community is much more vulnerable and easily villified at this point. Florida Republicans have found their own version of the Jewish Minority that they can blame all of societies ills and inadequecies on.

Maybe you’re right, but I think now that he has found his voice, and unchecked op power, he is pushing what he believes. But to be sure, this is complete and total speculation by me (I need to say that so avoid the DeSantis thought and free speech police to arrest me)

And how many of those are supporters of Meatball Ron DeSanctimonious and how many are political moderates who switched party registration so that they can vote in Republican primaries? For decades the reverse was true with a number of conservatives retaining their Democratic registration while voting Republican in the general election.

I’m a big fan of Ana Kasparian and The Young Turks, but with any media on the far side of any political aisle, you have to take what they say with a grain of salt a lot of the times. That said, at least she apologized and owned up to it. Good luck ever getting someone at Faux News to do that.

In the 2020 presidential election, 41% of voters in Kansas voted for the Democratic candidate. In the 2022 special election, 59% of the voters in Kansas voted for the longterm unquestionable Democratic policy position with no candidate attached to it. So it would stand to reason there is roughly 15-20% of the Republican electorate that doesn't actually like Republican policies, but they vote for them anyways.

This seems to be a thing these days. Writing a 'news' story about something or someone being slammed or blasted or whatever ... and it's based on two people that none of us have likely heard of tweeting something.

But back to DeSantis. I certainly don't know what he really thinks about issues, both personally and what he thinks is truly best for Florida or the US. But it appears that his sole motivation is what he thinks will get him to the White House. Apparently he thinks the abortion ban is part of that.

Trump labeling DeSantis "pudding fingers". Now that's funny!
