I’ve come to the conclusion that with your thinking you’re destined to die an early death.

We’re all going to die. And against the span of eternity, the longest life is but a blip. BTW: the years are wasting for me to die early. I’m in my sixties now. Maybe I’ll die of Covid-28 or something.

Is that classier than getting married in Vegas by an Elvis impersonator?

Sorry, didn't see another link that quoted the original judge in the case. I dont think I have ever read such a damning conclusion. It woukd seem to have been his job to rule in presence of such damning evidence. Making decaratory conclusions only to pass the potato makes no sense to me. Is it a career type decision or ???

Not sure what you mean. If you're asking about the panel of judges hearing the case, we don't which judges it will be yet. Judge Jill Pryor is a liberal, but just because she signed the order to expedite doesn't necessarily mean she'll be on the merits panel. (On appeals, motions panels and merits panels are usually different.)

Not at all a career decision. Hinkle is a senior judge. And he's never shied away from bold decisions (such as striking down Florida's gay marriage ban and the felon disenfranchisement scheme passed by DeSantis and co. after Amendment Four). Hinkle is a straight shooter. If he's doing something, it's because it's what he thinks is correct. I have the utmost respect for him as a judge.

Why? He clearly believed the evidence proved that his 1st A had been violated and that Des admin violated the Fl costitution in dismissing him.

Is it normal for a judge to state such things on the record? He didn't seem concerned about sharing his opinion on the evidence. Does he know he would get overturned or ??

Do the cases need to be split and let the feds settle 1A?

If I were in his shoes, I wouldn't consider it my duty as a federal judge to remove a state official because another state official violated the state constitution. His outlook was that DeSantis didn't actually remove Warren for the reasons he said. And I agree with him.

Honestly asking, why do you think DeSantis removed Andrew Warren?

Read it again. He is suing for reinstatement and judge wants decision to eminate from a trial and not a preliminary injunction.

Martin County, at the behest of a Moms Against Liberty leader, banned a book about the Holocaust.
Ron DeSantis’s book ban mania targets Jodi Picoult — and she hits back
Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis wants you to know he’d never dream of engaging in mass censorship. He held a recent event challenging criticism of his classroom book restrictions as a “hoax,” releasing a video suggesting only “porn” and “hate” are targeted for removal.

There’s a big problem with DeSantis’s claims: The people deciding which books to remove from classrooms and school libraries didn’t get the memo. In many cases, the notion that banned books meet the highly objectionable criteria he detailed is an enormous stretch.

This week, Florida’s Martin County released a list of dozens of books targeted for removal from school libraries, as officials struggle to interpret a bill DeSantis signed in the name of “transparency” in school materials. The episode suggests his decrees are increasingly encouraging local officials to adopt censoring decisions with disturbingly vague rationales and absurdly sweeping scope.
    * * *
“Banning ‘The Storyteller’ is shocking, as it is about the Holocaust and has never been banned before,” Picoult told us in an email. “Martin County is the first to ban twenty of my books at once,” Picoult said, slamming such bans as “a shocking breach of freedom of speech and freedom of information.” A coastal county in the southeastern part of the state, Martin County is heavily Republican.

Maybe DeSantis will sign into law a second Holocaust Education Week to atone for this ...

Is there any evidence that G. Soros donated to either of Warren's campaigns? I've been searching for it, but cannot locate anything. (and the "Soros Prosecutor lawsuit" headline is from Fox. Shocking, I know.)

Ober first ran against my wife's cousin after the incumbent State Attorney took a gunpowder sandwich under the Selmon Crosstown Expressway in 2000. Ober was a solid prosecutor and I voted for him over Warren. But, like you, I did vote for Warren when he was up for re-election.

One story said that Soros gave money to the Florida Democratic Party which gave money to some of the candidates around the state.
DeSantis made a big deal about liberals getting out of state money, forgetting that he’d receiver plenty, too.
But, yes, the ‘Soros prosecutor’ crap is just another example of Fox making it clear it’s not a news organization, just a propaganda pump.
