Why would that matter? The cat plans on running for President so his record of mismanagement in Florida is a matter of concern for everyone.

I’d bet against that any day of the year, but if I were you I’d pay closer attention to your own words.

When compared to other states, FL fared about average in deaths when you account for age of the population. But they opened schools and businesses sooner than most states so yes, there is more to how a Gov handled Covid than deaths only.

You are wrong. We were around the middle of age stratified deaths. Which is the only way one would judge a state that has the 4th oldest population considering Covid was really only a major threat to the elderly. But you know this and are ignoring that because of your partisanship. At least that is obvious.

Exactly. He served as a lawyer. That’s a far cry from holding himself out to be a guy who trained in the Navy and advanced to complete one of the most challenging programs in the world to become a Navy Seal.

As for how he treated prisoners, how would you know?!?! Have you read his files? Because reports are out that he did just the opposite, laughing in their face as they were tortured in Guantanamo (and, to be sure, I have no idea if those reports are accurate, either. I wasn’t there).

We ranked #3 behind Texas and California. No one would consider that about average. Further Florida fudged on how it counted infection and death rates. They didn’t count the snowbirds who listed their primary residence in another state but still lived here six months out of the year.

I agree that it’s not easy to judge the performance of a governor during Covid. But statistically. Despite Florida having the weather to allow outside activity and eating year around, Florida did not statistically outperform other comparable states. Instead, it was an unpredictable crapshoot, as evidenced all over the world.

Newsome was not the worst, by any stretch, statistically speaking. He took the polar opposite approach to DeSantis, for sure. And yet, his state did not statistically “win” Covid, either. It was a total crapshoot.

Texas was #1 but let’s go deeper. California has almost 40 million people living in that state, Texas has ten million less, and Florida has half the population of California. Considering that, Newsome did an outstanding job compared to Abbott and DuhSantis.

Actually FL did pretty good for being a large state with such an older population.

I was only using his dumb way of counting total covid deaths against him in his pathetic argument. CA did slightly better than FL when you calculate for age.

You are the brilliant one who said DeSantis did 3rd worst. Well, Newsom was 1st. Congrats. Way to go Dems!
