He can’t be that bad considering people are still moving away from California and to Florida.

But not better than the people who voted for DeSantis and fled the Castro regime?

Don’t be shy. Say exactly what you mean.

Okay, then say “I disagree that DeSantis is comparable to Castro.”

He is manufacturing a child-friendly environment for environments for children and hes revoking special privileges from Disney.

Comparing that to Castro is about as fair as comparing you to Hitler for owning a dog.

"Castro was manufacturing a child-friendly environment by getting rid of all of the people who had dangerous ideas. And he was merely revoking special privileges from the people and companies because they criticized his ideas. This is why Castro is good and freedom bad."

A lot of you can't distinguish between autocratic authoritarian leadership and competent leadership, which shows just how incompetent the Republican Party has been for the last few decades.

Establishing a broad coalition and getting shit done is apparently "autocratic authoritarian leadership."

Democrats seized control over education to the point it was propaganda run amok. DeSantis is now taking steps to take it back.

Now you're upset and comparing him to dictators not because you actually care about the First Amendment (as though public education isn't controlled by government), but because you think the sexual confusion of children is actually a worthwhile political goal for you.

Ask business owners in Florida about DeSantis (apart from literally Disney who has special privileges nobody else has, and they're salty because DeSantis disagrees with them politically and threatened to take those privileges away) and see what they tell you.

I have a better idea, how about you refrain from straw man arguments?

I guess you couldn't refrain...which by the way is dishonest and cowardly because you know they're fallacies.

Here's a wake-up call ya'll are going to have to deal with. The days of "hands off" conservatives and "problem-solving (code for "destroy everything")" Democrats are over.

The veil is off, nobody believes in this myth of libertarian Democrats or this notion that all Democrats care about is fighting for everyone's freedoms. They care about one thing, and that's power. They use victimhood, martyrdom, virtue-signaling, and grandstanding as ways of garnering political support to cover for pretty terrible authoritarian policy.

Republicans generally don't believe in that as an optimal solution. But we're at a point where people realize that if you play the "hands off" game while the other side wants to use every means possible to dictate the direction of the country, you're going to lose every time. Every single time. So you fight fire with fire until the power of the executive shrinks, both sides respect federalist principles, and both sides understand the common sense reality that weapons wielded against the opposition will come right back around the second that the shoe is on the other foot.

Either we all learn from this or we deal with this cycle in perpetuity. Critics of modern conservatives like DeSantis may claim that he perpetuates the cycle rather than alleviates it. Wrong. He perpetuates the cycle for Democrats and he makes them angry because he forces them to actually confront the consequences of their own policy and their own way of governing. If conservatives like him didn't exist, Democrats would be doing the same authoritarian thing... and there wouldn't be a cultural conflict, but it would be due to submission to a leftist authority... not due to consent from the country at large, especially from the conservative wing.

You could very easily prove me wrong just by saying: “I disagree that DeSantis is comparable to Castro.”

But you won't because you prefer to play both sides in cowardly fashion. You want to defend the notion that DeSantis is comparable to Castro without actually saying it, then suggest I'm using a strawman fallacy for calling you out on it. It's pathetic.

    Or Republicans are losing the argument with America with the GOP having lost every popular vote in the last 35 years other than a 9/11 aided election for Bush so people like you support doing away with democracy. Your moronic and idiotic posts are laughable.;

That's not the vision the founders had for the country. They drafted the US Constitution with democratic principles, but with curbs against the tyranny of the majority.

But this sort of mentality is exactly why you got Trump and DeSantis, and is exactly why you better pray neither of them win.

Welcome to the "elections have consequences" way of politics. "Screw the minority party, we were elected... democracy says we can do what we want. California should be able to dictate the way of life for people in Montana."

I’m simply pointing out the derivation of the GOPs newfound love for destroying the system. It’s not manning up to the democrats abuse of the system as you want to desperately believe. It is a reaction to the democrats winning votes within the current system requiring the GOP to now break it.

And I dont “pray” for political outcomes.

Which side decided to destroy the filibuster for judicial picks?
Which side has been calling to pack the Supreme Court because there's a conservative majority now on the Court?
Which side has called for the dismantling of the electoral college?

Democrats, not Republicans, use the system as a tool until it's wielded against them. Then, they want to overhaul it.

Filibuster rules aren’t undoing democracy. Nothing else you posted is a thing. 147 GOP congressmen and women voted to throw out legal votes in an attempt to win a lost election. That is on the record for everyone to see. Not some blog post by some GOP commentator. On the congressional record. The reason you use made up issues is because there is no real issue with Democrats and their defense of democracy.

Yes, you used multiple straw men arguments to try to get me to try to "prove you wrong" rather than, you know, actually addressing what I wrote. It's not then dishonest of me to not take your bait. It's simply not taking your bait.
