Is there a reason that you didn't post the multiple lawsuits regarding the first amendment that DeSantis has lost?
Why? You didn't share the First Amendment lawsuit tied to the Biden Administration I shared. The purpose of the post is not to provide you a study of all of the information and put it in context for you. You already have your mind made up and are radically skewing the narrative in favor of the left. And in typical welfare queen fashion, you expect other people to do your work for you. I don't have any obligation to do that. At what point is your Administration "hostile" to the First Amendment? What's worse: Minor violations to specific borderline situations or major violations where you hide behind big corporations setting policy for public platforms? DeSantis is pushing the boundary as a short-term goal to redefine the normal in this country by sending a message to big corporations like Disney and by curbing the damaging regressive excesses of our education system. He's specifically in the niche of children and education. Sometimes he happens to go over the line. Democrats find it completely acceptable to redefine normal and muzzle their opposition via ostracization, cancel culture, pressuring big influential corporations to do their bidding, and the administrative state rewarding their constituents while punishing their opponents. And they find it normal to seize institutions people should be able to trust and turning them into indoctrination platforms to mold the next generation. That is how you got Ron DeSantis, and he's just what the doctor ordered. The difference is one side is reacting to tactics from the other. And that absolutely matters. The people who don't understand that are the same people crying about Israel's treatment of Gaza as though that occurred in a vacuum. I'm not comparing the evils of Gaza to the evils of Democrats, I'm only highlighting that a lot of people seem to only get mad at the people who threw the second punch. There are A LOT of people like that on this forum. They're the first to jump to the aid of a bully who plays the victim the second someone stands up to them and shows the slightest bit of backbone.
To gator_lawyer and all of the clowns who agreed with this ridiculous post, if DeSantis is so much like Castro, why did DeSantis win not only a majority of the Cuban vote but the entire Hispanic vote in Florida? Cubans and Venezuelans fleed Communist regimes to elect somebody who is exactly like them? What you think that 50% of Hispanics in Florida are too stupid to tell that DeSantis is like Castro or Maduro? You think that technical potential First Amendment violations over broad legislation in education to curb indoctrination and preserve the innocence of children in spaces reserved for children is comparable to Castro? You think revoking special privileges from a corporate giant in the state so that they're treated like everyone else is comparable to what Castro did?
Incorrect, he won a majority of the entire Hispanic vote in Florida. "DeSantis won 57% of the Hispanic vote, compared with 42% for Democrat Charlie Crist." Ron DeSantis did much better than Donald Trump with Florida Hispanics
Laughably bad. Anyone with the slightest bit of objectivity knows there's a world of difference between what Biden and Trump did with regards to the classified documents.
You misinterpreted what I stated. I obviously was not stating he won 100% of the Hispanic vote. He won a majority of the Hispanic vote. Now care to address the point I made rather than the one you wish I made?
They both violated the Espionage Act. Trump not taking measures to help himself is one issue. But the fact that both broke the law and the one running against the current Administration was targeted by that Administration is another entirely. You want to talk about comparisons to dictators, that's a much better place to start.
Well no, it wasn't obvious, my misinterpretation or a point that I wish you made. You wrote what you wrote. No need for you to deflect.
Once again, Trump was not "targeted" because he is running against Joe Biden, he was investigated and indicted because there was a great deal of evidence that he broke the law and also once again, if Trump returned the documents when requested the chances are that he would have never been indicted. You can continue to make excuses and rationalize but it still wouldn't change the fact that the situations of Joe Biden and Mike Pence with respect to the classified documents are not remotely similar to that of Donald Trump.
As with an alleged crime, there are degrees. A side-by-side look at the Trump, Biden classified documents Trump had vastly more documents, lied about them, obstructed efforts to have them returned, and shared top secret information to civilians on at least 2 different occasions. Biden (and Pence) had a few, upon discover notified authorities and promptly returned them. There is no evidence any sensitive information was shared with third parties.
Would you expect a person found with one joint to be prosecuted to the same degree as a dealer with a pound of fentanyl? This isn’t difficult to grasp.
Considering that this isn’t the only indictment Trump has on its hands, the incentives favoring selective prosecution in this case, and we have DAs campaigning on prosecuting Trump adds quite a bit of context.
You’re suggesting that you know Castro and Maduro better than people who fled those regimes, and in many cases were incarcerated under those regimes.
