At the end of the day, Joe Biden's Justice Department charged Donald Trump for something that Joe Biden did, throwing a monkey wrench into his opposition's re-election bid using the justice system.

With respect to what's coming... you reap what you sow. Don't cry when retaliation comes, it will fall on deaf ears.

He has been charged and indicted on some of this in your list. He was impeached for two others. And 10 instances of obstruction were identified in Muller’s report. Quit apologizing for and excusing this corrupt grifting authoritarian that you helped elect. It’s unbecoming a sentient being.

715: Both the guy who accidentally received too much when they engaged in normal banking activity and the guy who demanded the money at the point of a gun walked out of the bank with extra money. It is the same! Therefore, I can justify doing whatever I want now in my own mind.

LOL. Collusion happened and was documented. Peacefully protest? Biden did the same thing? He allowed them to search, no subpoena required, he didn't hide anything, no search warrant was required, and he did not obstruct justice.

Charges and indictments aren't convictions. Impeachment isn't a conviction.

I'll ask again: how many trips to the batter's box do Republicans get? Because based on the precedent set, they can just launch endless investigations into their opposition until one sticks.

Yep…all viable conservative candidates will have some kind of dirty laundry queued up and made a national story on the DNC and the MSM’s command.

Like I've said before, the Stormy Daniels related charges seem tenuous to me. Given the novelty of some of the arguments, SOL issues, the fact that he used his own money, etc., I think questions about Trump being treated differently seem legitimate even assuming the factual allegations will be proven. I have no problem conceding that even though I don't like Trump. I would ask those people who are critical of each/all of the indictments against Trump if they think even a single one could be justified depending upon how the evidence plays out.

The classified documents one according to Dershowitz is the most legally threatening to Trump from my recollection. I can realistically see a conviction there.

I see comparisons to Hillary and Biden in that case and they're okay, but pointing out that "someone else committed a crime and wasn't prosecuted" isn't a legal defense.

The RICO case in Georgia risks the worst consequences, but I believe that comes down to intent which will be difficult to prove.

Both Biden, along with Trump and Pence, and dozens of others every year had classified docs in their possession they should not have had at the time. Why did Trump get charged and most others do not? Simple. Actions once the Feds realized there was a doc leak.

    • Trump initially did not want to return the docs in question. Biden and Pence did
    • Trump did return some docs but lied on an affidavit stating he returned all the docs when he knew this was a lie. Biden and Pence allowed full FBI searches of their offices and domiciles to ensure all docs were returned
    • Trump purposely moved docs from one location to another to avoid the Feds from finding them. Biden and Pence allowed full FBI searches of their offices and domiciles to ensure all docs were returned
Had Trump fully cooperated with the Feds, returned all that he knew were in his possession, and allowed the FBI full access to search to be 100% sure, I would be completely on board with no charges against Trump. But that's not what happened. You are trying to compare someone who accidently forgot to pay for a $1 candy bar at the self checkout with someone who purposely steals thousands of dollars worth of electronics from WalMart. Both are guilty of of the same crime, which is taking merchandise from the store without paying. But if security catches the guy with the candy bar, and they guy apologizes, and agrees to pay for it, they won't press charges. Guy with thousands of dollars worth of electronics? He's going to get charged, if caught, regardless.

Trump is being charged with 37 counts of willful retention of national defense information. That’s a crime delineated in the Espionage Act that carries a maximum prison sentence of 10 years per count. Neither Pence nor Biden willfully retained those documents when asked to return them while Trump did.

If Donald Trump and his sycophants didn't commit multiple violations of the law they would have never been indicted. If Trump accepted his loss in the 2020 election and conceded and if he had returned all of the classified documents at Mar-a-Lago when requested he could still be running for the presidency in the 2024 cycle and he wouldn't have been saddled with the indictments. I would agree that Alvin Bragg's indictment of Trump on the campaign finance charges is a political stunt. It's the weakest case against Trump and probably should have never been filed. Other than that one case Trump has only himself to blame for every charge against him and running for the presidency shouldn't provide him with immunity from prosecution.

I would agree that if the Donald is elected he will weaponize the DOJ as well the IRS against Biden and on any other of his perceived enemies largely on trumped up (pun definitely intended) charges. Trump weaponized the government against his enemies when he was in office and if he has the opportunity to do so he will do it again only a much greater scale. In case anyone may have forgotten.

Jim Wright was not charged with a crime, but as speaker of the house in 1989 he resigned due to findings by the House Ethics committee - when the Democrats controlled the House.

Is there anything Trump could be charged that you would say - “That’s too far, I just can’t support him”
