One wonders whether this means we won't have open borders when it is completed.

*One doesn't wonder this because it doesn't matter how much is spent on the border turning the place into a militarized border, the borders are always open whenever Republicans say they are*

I’m sure the “BUILD THE WALL!” crowd will happily give the Biden administration credit for this:)

I’d bet they’ll be more likely to complain that it almost certainly isn’t actually a wall.

“Infrastructure and security at points of entry” can mean a lot of things, but it probably isn’t the terminology I would choose for a physical barrier away from manned checkpoints.

Will you be heading to the border to see it? Or just declaring it an open border as long as a Democrat is in office regardless of how much they spend on it...

This is a weird obsession. Do you think the President of Mexico is chilling at the border waiting to talk? Hell, she visited the border a year ago, yet you're still going. Must be nice to live in a world where facts don't matter.

The wall was always intended to be more figurative than literal, a clear dividing line between WASP culture and my people, and declaring that the latter were not really Americans by definition

Man, this one really hits you right in the feels, huh? Well, good news for you, I'm sure Fox News will continue to tell you the border is open and not take away such an important source of outrage for you. Just as they would if the deal was for $15 Billion in border infrastructure improvements or $150 Billion or $1.5 Trillion.

funny all the negative ratings when you point out no mention of a wall was in the article, it is not going to be built despite the mis-leading headline.i guess jjgator55 was caught with his pants down, he of the thread starting and no proof of a wall.

Apparently there are those that either can’t remember, or prefer willful ignorance, the previous President considered his “wall” an infrastructure project, and that the term wall doesn’t necessarily mean a physical structure. The term infrastructure is used throughout the article.

“The Trump administration has awarded a major border security contract to a California technology start-up that will use artificial intelligence on an unprecedented scale, pairing the president’s giant steel barrier with the kind of “virtual wall” long favored by Democrats to prevent illegal crossings from Mexico.”
