    An order of magnitude fewer.

Well, that is quite a different position from the OP. Perhaps you two should discuss whether we should have no regulations or many more regulations.

No time for these ridiculous circle jerk arguments. If you want to watch the video and engage. Great.

    Total federal employment: 3 million.

    All Employees, Federal

No, 1/8 of all workers in this country do not work for the federal government...

It is funny. You make a specious argument and then get mad at me for pointing it out. "Big" is just the adjective that you use to frame them negatively. "Successful" is the adjective that you use to frame them positively. Ultimately, this isn't some grand conspiracy. It is capitalism, people all trying to maximize their wealth. It just led to an outcome that you don't like.

No, it actually doesn't, as much of that is actually private contractor. Beyond that, active duty military is not generally counted in any employment figures. It has about 770k civilian employees, or a little less than 1/4 of federal government employment. But if you want to add active duty military, add another million or so.

Great point! Generally any rational person/entity operating in good faith would include all personnel paid with public funds. Its the same bs with unemployment numbers, CPI, illegal immigration ect. Theres 20-25m of them. A majority of them leech wealth from others and write 1500 page bullshit reports on how they arent. Hopefully a meaningful number of them get walking papers in '25.

Again, the "beauty" of an openly pay-to-play system.

You continuing to claim something that isn't true, doesn't make it true. Again, you are off by an order of magnitude. There aren't 20-25 million working for the federal government or anything even vaguely similar to that.

Eh, he was a quasi-COVID warrior, but nowhere near the quackery of RFKj or those nuts like Tenpenny.

He mainly railed on boosters and vaccine mandates and made some bad “herd immunity” predictions. Later he pivoted to “it’s not that bad.”

But he also called for at least one dose of vaccine, masks, lockdowns, and the bulk of the actual public actions. He stayed mostly between the lines and avoided the wackiest stuff. He did get busted extrapolating tiny sample sizes, extreme health situations, and non-causal relationships to cook up an absurd claimed death rate for “medical errors.” That is worrisome since that was either extreme incompetence or purposeful malfeasance, but sadly that prolly still solidifies him as “better than expected” for a T cronie.

As far as challenging all these institutions he is part and parcel of, yes, I’ll wait for actions. I doubt it too, it’s standard populist rhetoric.

Most likely it’ll be the same old “takes longer than I have” BAU. This whole crew has been working on two week jobs for eight years now, with no solutions that can even be verbalized. This guy will likely fit right in.

I really prefer not to start evey reply with "Ok dude" so...
Ok, Md. You go on believing that troops, postal workers and contractors arent actually "employed" by the gov and therefore cant or "generally arent" included in FREDs numbers.

Even if we are generous about what a federal employee is, getting to 25 million is a big stretch lol. Raytheon doesn’t even employ 100,000 people for example. Lockheed around 100k. The number of actual people in the military isn’t big either. maybe slightly over 1 million active across all branches. You are going to have to be super creative to get anything close to what you are saying.

Yep, and that why Trump got elected and not the usual RINO establishment Pub. This doctor is about saving more lives and billing you, me, us, the consumer, less money in the process.

    Leana Wen gets it...

Leana S. Wen: Trump's FDA pick could bridge health divides with prevention focus - EHN

Might have a paywall to see the whole article as it does for me. But this is exactly why Makary is such a great choice...

    "
    In short:

    • Marty Makary, a Johns Hopkins surgeon, has been selected as the FDA commissioner under the Trump administration.
    • Makary supports tackling preventable chronic diseases by addressing the impact of ultra-processed foods, pesticides and microplastics.
    • His approach could serve as a bridge between Trump’s health agenda and mainstream public health strategies.
    Key quote:

“We are ignoring a giant blind spot, and that is we are not addressing the root cause of obesity.”

    — Marty Makary, surgeon at Johns Hopkins"

Some of those ideas seem reasonable.

I still won't read it. Won't read a bit of it. And, no offense, I won't trust you either.

Why? Because those people are Trump appointees and therefore lackeys. I don't trust anyone Trump appoints. I don't trust their competence, qualifications, abilities, or intentions.

Want to find fault in me for that? Go ahead. Call me a libby or a snowflake. Make me feel sad inside with your words.

But here's the deal; Trump is a shameless ****ing liar, and a criminal. He has demonstrated for years no concern for anyone at all but himself. Or, for that matter, accumulating wealth in any and all dubiously legal ways possible. He lied to the public to get elected, he fomented hate to get elected, and he attacked our government. He committed sex crimes.
He appoints his lackeys solely based on their wiillingness to enable his crime.

So my fault I won't have an open mind for him or you? Wrong - don't behave like that or enable that with your vote if you want to have a shred of credibility. Can't just pivot from "they're eating dogs" to "I want to help with science." Nope.

If you want to actually engage I will be happy to. I do appreciate you being honest enough to explain you are not willing to listen to others. Hopefully you will change one day as it will be beneficial for you.
