Well, a not unusual big fail by the meteorologists in Gainesville. It never even got down to freezing and we just had a rainy night.....maybe a little sleet mixed in that melted the second it hit the ground.
I got 9 inches a week ago and my yard is still covered mostly 'cause it's been so friggin cold. Lucky me has disk between L4 and L5 that keeps reminding me how that clean driveway and all of those mounds of snow surrounding my parked car got there.
Got a little over 6 inches at my house. Friends of mine in the north part of the county got over 10. My neighbor and her husband were outside. He's an F-35 pilot and transferred in from Alaska this past summer. The wife was taking pictures and she commented she thought they had left this s*** when they left Alaska.
Ive never understood why anyone would put up with this crap. Its fun for a minute but im over it in less than 24 hrs.
It's sort of funny that this storm came in 40 years to the day of what I believe is the coldest day in Gainesville for the past 40+ years. I was in my 2nd year at UF on January 21, 1985 when the temp dropped to 10 degrees and the high was only 29. It was the craziest thing ever.
