Florida man wants to be President. Now Ric Scott. The field is being flooded with Florida man candidates. Going to work on getting out the zombie vote.

Senator Rick Scott Has Been Weighing a Presidential Run

Senator Rick Scott of Florida is considering a late entry into the Republican presidential primary race, a move that would make him the latest high-profile Florida Republican to try to wrest the nomination from Donald J. Trump, according to two people familiar with the discussions.

Mr. Scott, who came to power as governor during the Tea Party wave of 2010, has been discussing a possible campaign for several weeks, according to the people familiar with the talks. Like other recent entries, Mr. Scott appears to be assessing a G.O.P. field in which Mr. DeSantis, with whom Mr. Scott has had a difficult relationship, has lost some support after a series of missteps and unforced errors.

Are these people that delusional that they think they have a chance? Or are they just hoping to raise their profile?

what in the hell makes Rick Scott think the American public would want him as president?

Either these people suffer delusions of grandeur, or running for president is just a way to get notoriety and collect a warchest of money.

These people are auditioning for cabinet positions. Assuming Trump wins the White House of course.

Yeah, I think its kind of a make work type of thing. You get a bit more media attention to say things, you get to pay people in your orbit consulting fees and salaries paid by other people, and you can even loan yourself money to do it that you dont have to pay back. I seriously doubt Rick Scott thinks he can be president, but you can be slightly more important for a limited period of time.

Why would anyone give up being a Senator? Even in Florida, I doubt a president would allow a vacancy that could affect the chamber. I can see it for others term limited out or with no electoral prospects.

You still have an open seat when the term is up or a special election is held. Weird things happen, like in Alabama when Sessions left the Senate.

This is a welcome addition, because as of right now we only have three Floridians running for President. Our state is severely underrepresented. This will help close that gap

He'd be perfect for Health and Human Services Secretary. Who better to mind Medicare fraud?

I'm be all for it. He was a damn solid governor for our State.

    Put it this way:

    Rick Scott > DeSantis > Trump > Tulsi > RFK > Gavin Newsome > [X] > Joe Biden

He does have one thing going for him insofar as the GOP primaries are concerned. Florida voters may not care as may be the case of Republican voters in general but this probably will not be positive for Rick Scott in a general presidential election.
