This morning, 5/13, they were discussing the best players in college baseball. They named the 2 kids at LSU, the kid at FAU, a picher in the Pac12 (missed a few seconds there) and a kid at West Virginia. Then they discussed best pro prospects and the two guys were arguing between Dillan Crews and Paul Skenes. The next part was what caught my ear. The one expert, a former college D1 baseball coach, said that after Crews, he thought that Wyatt Langford the second most "sure-fire" major league prospect in the upcoming draft and thought that he was likely a "middle of the line up hitter" for many years in the majors. I thought that was pretty high praise for someone not listed on his "Golden Spikes Award Top 4". Just thought I would share.
For what it’s worth last night Kyle Peterson commented several times that he expects Langford to be a top 5 pick in the first round if not a top 3. He also said if Sproat continues to show the command he had on his change up last night he will push himself into the first round as well with all of the arm side movement he has on his pitches.
Langford was #1 MLB prospect prior to season(at least buy some).. Injury only reason not on awards list for this season
Sproat has a real chance to shoot up the draft board in his next handful of starts. It is beginning to look as though things are falling in place for him.
