    LOLNO.

That Roseanne shit show was ear gratingly bad. Intentionally mocking the anthem type bad. That’s why she was booed mercilessly. This was more like an amateur singer giving it a go. I’ve heard worse. Don’t hear many boos but see some players with a “wtf is this” type look.

Embarrassing for a supposed professional, but Roseanne was next level disgrace.

I see. Thought you were suggesting that bad performances are necessary in order to inspire good ones. From the perspective of setting standards, there may be an element of truth to that (i.e. what separates good from bad), but not necessarily with consideration to inspiration. I agree that amateur performers should be prominent among those who sing the banner at events. The Tampa Bay Lightning have a military person who regularly sings the anthem and she kicks butt. Same can be said for student and children performers at some venues.

If a mariachi band played in the woods and nobody was present to hear it, did they really make music?

If you don't record everything on your phone to post to social media later what's the point of even going to sports or concerts?

Bad ass. unfortunately, I think he'd get torched for that rendition today.

Torched today? Eh. Not really, that Woodstock version was so amazing it’s almost passé. Lots of rock musicians have done this either at a sports event or tagged at the end of a concert, and many seem to be straight up aping Hendrix at Woodstock (or at least his guitar tone). Probably just because that version is so damned iconic.

He performed the anthem more than once of course, I’ve heard some sloppy renditions by Hendrix. There was also a studio version Hendrix did which sounds very different. Wouldn’t even guess Hendrix without knowing it’s Hendrix.

I think people generally give alot of leeway on the anthem, especially instrumental takes that are interesting. Vocal takes on the other hand seem to go sideways more quickly if too many liberties are taken. Maybe vocalists also just get judged more harshly, I know some people that get highly offended by little R&B vocal flourishes.

    Whitney and Marvin were amazing!

Recently we had Florida Man crush it for a Jaguars game…

Amateur singer? Are you really that out-of-touch and stupid?
Ingrid Andress is a four-time Grammy-nominated artist. An amateur singer? Surely you jest, sir. Or you are like really dumb?

    That's like, your opinion man.
But I think that Roseanne's rendition was supposed to be funny (which it was clearly not), while Ingrid's version was selfishly drunk awful. ymmv

I realize she was reported as a Grammy award winning singer. I was referring to her “performance “, which was amateurish.

Out of touch with the Grammy’s? Abso-fricken-lutely. Never watched it. Never heard of this lady before. I don’t pay attention to popular music at all, let alone modern “country stars” (which I assume she is). I couldn’t even pick out a Taylor Swift song and I prefer to keep it that way.

Here's a conspiracy theory just for conversation. They did it on purpose to market their name. Just think how they will look when they come out of rehab saying they're much stronger now
