I think this increases her chances. In Arizona, independents are the second largest voting bloc. She would lose a Democrat primary, but she has a chance in a 3 way race

Also, because she is a corporate lackey this move will help to keep the donations coming in from both sides

In a way she's trying to a pull an Arizona version of Lisa Murkowski's Alaskan strategy. Given that the Arizona Republican Party is likely to nominate an election denying Trumper, maybe even Kari Lake if she's not running for the vice presidency as Trump's running mate, Sinema will try to win reelection with a coalition of moderate Democrats and moderate Republicans/independents especially those Arizonans who still have admiration for the late Senator john McCain.
Opinion: Kari Lake told Arizona's McCain Republicans to 'get the hell out.' They did
McCain Republicans overlap with those who crossed party lines to support President Joe Biden, turning the state blue in 2020. They tend to be centrist, business-friendly, middle- to upper-middle-class folks who live in the nicer neighborhoods of Phoenix and its close-in suburbs. They want lower taxes, efficient government and absolutely no drama. They don’t make up the majority of the party – not by a long shot – but they exceed that single percentage point Lake needed to best Hobbs. They heard Lake’s call to “get the hell out,” and did as they were told.
Those are exactly the type of voters who would vote for Sinema in a 3-way. They do not want either an election-denying Trumper or a liberal Democrat and would gladly vote for a moderate independent.

it is an interesting strategy. But if it’s a 3 way I think she pulls much more heavily from democrats than republicans. Only a small portion of republicans, maybe 5-10% are so anti MAGA they’d vote against a MAGA Republican.

Is it a leading vote getter wins or do they have to have 50%, so it could take a runoff.?

Leading vote getter. No run-offs. Local D party is not happy with Sinema. She'd do OK with independents, but not well with either party voters.

The locals aren't the only ones. She did this to prevent the Democrats from primarying her (because nobody likes her). Hopefully, they make some sort of deal with her so she goes away.
