Get this man involved with the team... STAT. Recruiting, S&C, assistant coach... SOMETHING. That is all!
His stock shot through the roof with his showing on this doc. Would love to have him as some sort of off the field role if he is up for it. Give him any role that gets him access to be able to recruit!!
For reals. I’m not in the twitterverse (do we call it xverse now?) so someone needs to get the word out. Head motivator.
didn’t know or remember him being that much if a leader on the field. I do remember Meyer at that time (2005) saying Siler was the best host for recruits on official visits. That even though Siler was recruited by the prior staff, he was the ultimate salesmen that helped them close and sign several top recruits.
Time makes most forget I guess. I rember the impact he made on the field and as a vocal leader very clearly. He came in at a time of great need and really was the talk of the defense when he did because we were pretty thin at linebacker at the time and I want to say he was pretty unheralded but I could be wrong about that part.
Man, what he said to Meyer after Ginn Jr ran back the opening KO for a TD in the NC game was incredible. My opinion of the dude was elevated mightily from that documentary. What a leader of men!
If Siler had just come back for his SR season we have 3 straight NC's. And definitely had no clue how huge of an impact he had as a leader in that locker room.
Perhaps, but that secondary was suspect the next year ,-;plus, what would spikes have done? Two Mikes?
I remember Meyer telling a story about the game in an interview. He claims he turned and told a staff member, maybe the team chaplain that after the Ginn touchdown he said he the game was over, for OSU. He claims he said that was the punch in the mouth this team needed to focus and that OSU had NO chance to win the game at that point. Pretty sure it was just his story telling but interesting to remember given the documentary.
Don't think so. Unless Ginn can play in the OL and play well as one of the OLs, but no. It was over because osu's Heisman QB was running for his life almost the entire game.
I’m sorry but I disagree. OSU was way overconfident and clearly ill-prepared for the physicality that hit them over and over and over. That was a talented and supremely angry Gator Team
That's not how he phrased it though. I vividly remember him telling the story and the Ginn injury took a few moments before they confirmed he was out. Either way it seemed to differ from the Netflix account.
Ted Ginn took, what would be considered a dive in boxing, because he knew he was going to get shut down by our DBs and he didn’t want to hurt his draft status. Watch him running off the field after the TD. There was no limp. He came back for the first offensive series and ran patterns and had no limp. The guy is a coward!
