l have heard suggestions of this or read stories that at some point, the teams/league will not be affiliated with the universities, or only marginally so. I am not sure how that could succeed…being that I and many other fans follow/cheer/root for- have interest in and care about UF or other college football teams BECAUSE of its ties to the university. I don’t cheer for any other college teams except the school I attended. if at some point there was little to no affiliation to UF other than a team named the gators competing in a new football league (a minor league as it’s not the NFL) I wouldn’t have any interest in watching it. For many, the ties to the universities is why we care.
Big News.. FSU has been left out of Early signing day. The committee decided they dont need any recruits since they are not allowed to make the playoffs anyway..
Apologize if that comment was sarcastic, but if not that's kinda disrespectful to all those young men who have already sent in their NLI and will be busting their ass trying to make you applaud. To whomever signs today because they want to come to my university, I say welcome aboard. To whomever doesn't, I say I wish you well young man.
I do not. My guess would be Baugh, the RB who decommitted from Arkansas or safety Greg Smith. small possibility of OT Edwin Favour. None of these 3 would be a major surprise. if some other uncommitted player sent in an NLI that is outside these 3 players, that indeed would be a big surprise. sadly, I am at the point that if is one of the 3 I listed, I will find it underwhelming. Never has it been shown that losing multiple 4-5 star commits on or right before signing day and adding 1 mid 3 to low 4 star surprise has been a formula for success. Not holding my breath for any major surprise commit.
while nothing ever announced by Uf, the fact that Hayes decided to head to coral gables for a visit in the early morning last Friday on the same day gator coaches were scheduled to visit him in home…coach(es) were pissed. They are no longer pursuing Hayes from what I hear.
Quite a few people on this board did argue for it. They are mostly much quieter now that the disaster has unfolded. Maybe I just blocked them all...
Yep, and that is NOT COLLEGE FOOTBALL... It's semi-pro and it will not happen the way they think it would. The schools can just refuse to let them play on their campus stadiums... and the universities can start a NEW COLLEGE STUDENT ATHLETES ONLY LEAGUE. Leaving the semi-pros to turn into a new XFL...
Like anything else, good for individual rights, not good for the game right now. It’ll need to change and it will.
From what I understand, 19 signed so that’s everyone committed except Amaris and LJ. EDIT: These are the unannounced signees… DJ Izaiah Williams Mike Williams Boireau Mascoll Silent
