I wholeheartedly agree.

But Republicans are a lot more likely to politicize this based on recent history. Indicting President Trump for calling for "peaceful protests" on the Capitol. Blaming Trump for every act of right-wing violence against Democrats based on either generic rhetoric from Trump or out-of-context rhetoric from Trump.

I see a lot of scorn at JD Vance, and though I disagree with Vance's response, I think a lot of Republicans are thinking "where have you been" right now with respect to the Democrats criticizing his response.

 

It went downhill quickly. It was followed by an amazingly fun time of washer and dryer shopping at Lowes.

 

Who are the ones being targeted with violence?
If you keep talking about people as if their subhuman like Biden did during his famous red light speech, you are going to get actions like today.

It’s insane the amount of people on social media sad the shooter missed. This country is far to gone in my opinion.

The man's been impeached, arrested, prosecuted, shot at... there is not a single President in American history that has been attacked more without being killed than Donald Trump. And due to this, our Democracy is currently being threatened by forces willing to do whatever it takes to keep Trump from regaining the White House.

Trump is Russias golden ticket. No chance. Not even to “sow division”. Their “sowing division” is getting Trump elected.

Iran is the only state actor crazy enough to maybe attempt that (and didn’t they literally threaten it after he assassinated their general at the Iraq airport?). Yet, I still very much doubt their follow though.

Doesn’t seem like much in the way of a plot. Just 1 dude with a rifle. Lone wolf seems to fit. The only question (aside from motive) is why wasnt the roof covered.

 

This is troubling. The conviction of Trump backfired. It did not do anything to drop the poll numbers, and the national debate really put Biden in the hole. If you really believe Trump is Hitler and he is an existential threat to democracy, then whistling and looking the other way while a sniper climbs on a roof with a line of site on Trump would be a logical next step. I'm not saying that necessarily happened, but the James Bond scenario also seems fantastic. The investigation will be one to watch for sure.
