    Which would be misguided.

One might also suspect that "doing something" frees one of the obligation to do something that is more helpful than harmful, which would also be misguided.

You and GOP thought leader MTG on same page.

All shooters: clearly not thinking through the 2A ramifications.

Also, managed to avoid 90 rounds of street jurisprudence despite suspecting he just eliminated a few citizens. I guess they took it for granted that he no longer had a gun, or at least needed to see more evidence that he was still killing people indiscriminately. He has a gift!

I think people are asking the wrong question and thus missing the core of the issue in debating the meaning of his Trump flag draping vs the meaning of his white boy rapper/colored hair.

Leaving aside easy gun access issues, the question is why are America's young, disaffected or troubled males more likely to act out in mass lethal violence than in any other advanced democracy?

As a colleague and friend put it, "when things fall apart, beware of the young and the restless."

It's an inability to accept disappointment in life that eventually boils over into a violent hatred of people. The American dream is dead and so are the dreamers.

I think that's a key part of it. Also, can't underestimate copycatting. This has become a phenomenon unto itself such that idea is out there for would-be disaffected with suicidal ideations.

No idea but I wonder if our cultural need for fame has anything to do with it? It seems we ( America) place such an emphasis on popularity/likes/followers/ whatever or however you want to quantify it that it becomes impossible to fulfill for some people. Just looking at the kid… which is an unfair judgement but all that I have to go on… seems he was desperate for attention. He wanted (needed) his 15 minutes of fame and when he got completely fed up with not being important… he exploded and made sure that he’s was.

It's amazing how these Trumpy nutjobs are always taken into custody politely vs. 60 shots fired or a knee to the neck of another kind of suspect.

Don't ever forget also that fear of safety in public spaces is one of the pathways to authoritarianism.

For those who think he is or was a Trump supporter:

His twitter followed and liked left leaning content. Here he supported arresting all those who attended Jan 6.

    He mocked trump supporters.

Here was his twitter before twitter got rid of his account.

The picture he posted with him having a trump flag he labeled as Spam. Clearly mocking Trump. There is nothing right wing or conservative about the guy.

Twitter and instagram already cleared his accounts which is ridiculous.

Yeah. Pretty clearly white cops go lenient on white guys that indiscriminately kill men, women and children many of who are white themselves...

I loathe what's happening in this country right now but I don't see how comments like that have any place.

You are in the heart of Dixiecrat county, so it’s good to know you survived unscathed.

I may be missing your point, but mine was that it seems as if those who could make a difference think a prayer is all they need to do.

The image of 4th of July fireworks juxtaposed against a crowd fleeing in terror from yet another mass shooting.

    Nothing else needs be said.

This guy is 100% one of those online incel “Chan” types. He’s “into” mass murder and mayhem.

Those groups absolutely tended to “support” Trump, but I’m thinking in the case of the incels and accelerationists they support Trump because they like the chaos, rather than anything one would normally associate with left or right politics… such as policy. They support extremism, and might gravitate towards either extreme end of the spectrum. The only thing they hate are “normies” and moderates. They certainly don’t support Trump because of tax cuts! They support him because they think he’s a chaos agent, that he’ll collapse the United States and out of this collapse and mayhem their station in society will somehow be raised. So I’d suggest to you the “love” of Trump coming from these groups is likely rather cynical in the first place.

In either case, whatever this guys motive for the shooting (whether it was a political target, or random selection) this is another one where you question how he obtained his weapon. The last several mass shooters were 100% legally obtained.

Bullshit. He's one of y'all. Own him.

Or at least stop trying to pawn him on the other side for political gain. That's shitty.
