I hate losing Miller. Man has been a beast over the last few years, and we could tell how import he was to this defense when he was out last year. However, I feel like Shemar James could easily take over that role leadership role. Wonder if PT moves him to MLB of leaves him at WLB?

I'm excited about the prospects for the defense especially going into next year.

First, we have youth getting great experience. Second we have an exciting group (class) expected to sign, bringing elite talent to positions of need.

Combine experience and (arguably) as good or the best defensive incoming class since....(Urban? Chump??)

And, this 2022 Class may get better, before signing day., UF is still in if for ALOT of the big time undecideds and of course are alleged to be attempting to flip some other big names.

THEN there is the transfer portal of course.

I'm thinking next year we take a step up a rung or two on the SEC ladder.

Anyway, looking forward to the team's ability to go on the road against Vandy.

Vandys interior blocking schemes looked good against KY and they made hay there.

Hopefully UF will have more road success Saturday.

On SC's depth chart he is listed at 210 lbs. On the football website he is listed as 230 lbs. VM is listed at 221 lbs on both.

Let him spend a month at my mom's house once the season is over. She'll make him big enough.

Give him another summer with the training staff and he could easily put on 10-15 lbs

210 looks more like it to me. And no, he’s not big enough yet. But he’s a young’un. He can get there without much drama, I’d guess.

Yeah. I do like Shemar James. Good guy. He is about 210ish as of now. Can he hold weight when he packs it on this winter and summer? Has to if he is to play the Middle. We shall see.

MLB is an attitude much more than a weight. The question is, is he a mlb.

I haven't been impressed with James play at all. He hasn't jumped out on film yet. Lets hope he puts on some good weight in the offseason and learns the D better because whenever I've watched he's been out of position more than he has been in position.

I think you are right. I hope we hit the portal hard to address some of these issues we have at positions that are lacking talent and ones that our best talent are vacating. Billy's going to be on fire over the off-season. None of this "It's not recruiting season" business.

LB is an air raid siren.

Not us but how long before some team offers a guy like Perkins $5mil to transfer?

Napier has a size/speed chart he uses to recruit players. I doubt James is an exception. Just needs to grow on the body he has.

The great ones don’t. Lets hope he has Ventrell Miller's trajectory and will grow into a very good LB, Burney never did.

After you watch football for awhile longer you'll learn that almost all great players take time to develop.

Burney may not be good enough for you but he's a great Gator who has given us everything he has and we are lucky to have him.
