Yeah, this makes perfect sense to a certain group of people. Should have just nominated A. Republican. Original thought and individual distinction is a burden that really cost them here.

The electoral college has zero to do with what he is right about what happened in Alaska. The voter rank choice is not democratic as all of our elections are save the presidential election, apples and oranges.

What these tribal asshats don't realize is that voters are tasked with voting for a person, not a party.

It's a moronic as complaining that a woman won when 60% voted for men.

What is not democratic about ranked choice voting?

What ironic is that the rank choice voting is what made this election even close. Without the second round of tallies, Palin and Begich would have been trounced.

He doesn't understand ranked choice voting.

Here's the best video I've seen on the subject.

It’s curious that you are disagreeing @ETGator1, as it was you that pointed out the democratic advantage after the first round of tallies, which would be the only tally in simple majority voting.

He’s upset that the votes from the other Republican didn’t automatically go to Palin just because she’s the other Republican regardless of what the voters wanted. Yes 60% of the voters voted Republican, just not the same Republican. What happened in Alaska was that the people got who they wanted, and the crazy lady was shown the door. Nothing wrong with that. Further rank choice saves the state time and money. It’s is the same as having a runoff without the expense of running one.

Rank choice easily applies to the Electoral College system, which disenfranchised voters and in 2000 and 2016 allowed a Republican presidential candidate to win despite receiving fewer votes than the Democratic candidate.

Ranked choice voting is the most democratic form of voting. If the 60% of people who voted for Republicans wanted Sarah Palin, they could have ranked her #1 or #2. Instead, more Alaskans preferred Mary Peltola to Sarah Palin. As usual, Republicans hate democracy when they lose.

Takes away too much power from the party, can't have that.
