Rs in Fla should be happy, the state continues to move further right politically. I thought Val Demings would at least be competitive, but nope.

This has to figure into his calculations about 2024. It would for most politicians anyway

Dems just held on to Hawaii at 2AM EST. They are leading in AZ by a healthy margin and narrowly leading in NV with only 54% of the votes counted. If they hold those 2 states, they will at least have 50 seats with Georgia likely to go to a run off.

Well, looks like the Republicans took Nevada once all of the rural votes came in.

Once again, Georgia (a run off I guess) will decide control of the Senate.

Don’t the pubs need all 4 outstanding states to get majority? NV,WI, AZ, GA?

They need 3 of the 4. Both currently sit at 48 that are called. If Dems get 2, they are at 50 with the vote from the VP breaking the tie.

Currently, Wisconsin is the only state that hasn't been called in which the Republican candidate is likely to win (a hold for Johnson). Masters would literally have to pull a rabbit out of a hat to win in Arizona considering Kelly's margin. Even if he does as well as Trump did with the late counted votes in 2020 he still wouldn't be able to overtake Kelly considering that Trump still lost Arizona with a better performance than Masters. Unfortunately there is a fairly good chance that Kari Lake sometimes referred to as "Trump in a dress" can make up her deficit in the election for governor.

I wouldn't be so sure about Laxalt carrying Nevada. He is currently ahead of Cortez Masto by around 22,000 votes with an estimated 164,000 votes from Clark County (Las Vegas) remaining to be counted. Those votes should to Cortez Masto by a significant margin and could offset the additional votes that Laxalt receives from the rural counties.

If the Democrats win in both Arizona and Nevada, Warnock should win the likely runoff in Georgia since the Democrats would already control the Senate by then with the net result being that a number of voters who cast their votes for Walker solely to give the Republicans control of the Senate would end up staying home.

Thanks. That is my mistake then. I thought I heard lastnight/this morning that Clark County had already all been counted. Thanks for the corrected information.

According to the NY Times, 78% of the votes from Clark County were counted as of this morning. The county is so large that an estimated 164,000 still remained to be counted.

They fear an independent run. They will offer a pardon. I wonder if they will be able to bundle a Georgia state pardon with the fed pardon to gain his support for DeS. I suspect DT will demand a full proclamation of innocence but will settle for a get out of jail card and his PAC money intact. I hope the DOJ relieves him of control of that cash somehow, maybe an independent controller ???

Here's an update on Arizona. There are still many "late early ballots" to be counted in the state. These are early ballots that were mailed in or dropped off late, and are always the last to be counted. According to Political, there are 275,000 of these ballots yet to be counted in Maricopa County alone.

Election officials there have long warned that this would be the case. In Maricopa County, the state’s largest county, mail ballots that were returned close to Election Day will not be tallied until Wednesday at the earliest. Maricopa Recorder Stephen Richer, the county’s chief election officer, announced Wednesday that officials received approximately 275,000 mail ballots on Tuesday. “This number is immense,” Richer said, adding that signature review on those ballots — a key step before they can be counted — will take place “today, tomorrow and the next day.”
Kelly is currently winning Maricopa County by 8%, but this includes both early ballots and day-off. And day-off favored Masters, whereas early voters across the state had Kelly at +17. No idea how many outstanding ballots there are in Pima County (Tucson), but they the lowest reporting counties at only 58% of vote counted. Kelly is winning Pima County +28. There could be another additional 100,000 ballots still yet to be counted in Pima County.

Kelly currently has a lead of 100,000 votes. If Maricopa and Pima represent half of the outstanding ballots state-wide, then at minimum, Kelly would have a 160,000 vote lead with around 400,000 outstanding. Masters would then have to pull 70% of the remaining vote to win. Not happening, because there are small counties like Apache and Santa Cruz where Kelly is +29 in both.

Most sights are calling Alaska for the Republicans. With rank choice voting I am guessing that Murkowski is re-elected. I am basing that on a democratic voter not wanting a trumpist to win.

Good for her. She is one of the few moderates in the party and reps Alaska well IMO.

She was dragged down by Charlie Crist being just generally loathsome, combined with Big Gov't Ron being especially popular in this state right now.

What is DeSantis doing to keep
Florida free other than making yard signs that say “ Keep Florida Free”?
