Just an FYI for anyone not paying close attention. The Gator WBK team is currently in a tie with LSU for 3rd place in the SEC. With about a 3 game cushion already and only 4 remaining games, we could see the team nearly lock up a Top 4 SEC Tournament Seed with a win this week over Arkansas. Find a way to beat LSU again after that and there is a real shot at a Top 16 National Seed for the NCAAT... meaning we could see Florida hosting the first two rounds. 2022 SEC Women's Basketball Standings
Tennessee is in 2nd but still has to play South Carolina and LSU. LSU has us and Tennessee left. If we can win our remaining games, we should end up 2nd unless Tenn can somehow beat both SC and LSU.
If we split head-to-head with LSU and have tie record, who gets 4th (and the honor of losing to USCe)?
Believe after head to head it goes to record against the top seed and moves down the list. We beat Tennessee and would hold the tie breaker now I think.
If our only remaining loss is to LSU, the only way we have the same SEC record is if they lose one other SEC game. If that loss is to Tennessee then we get 3rd and LSU gets 4th. Basically, the next thing the SEC looks at after head to head is our record against the highest seed on down. We both lost to 1 seed South Carolina but we beat 2 seed Tennessee. Of course, if Tennessee loses 2 other SEC games then there is a 3 way tie and it gets more complicated than I'm willing to look at...lol Tournament Tiebreakers
Yes, but only if LSU loses to Tennessee. There are multiple scenarios where we end up with equal SEC records.
As long as its just two it'll keep moving down the list. Beating Arkansas is big because they are in that lump of schools behind us and they beat LSU.
This last stretch is pretty tricky. Arkansas and Missouri are scrappers and will be tough, and at LSU will be super hard. Vanderbilt isn't going to lay down either.
