As more and more details come out, it's becoming very clear how Michigan had a very elaborate process to steal other team's signals during the season. Lucky for all of us, this process was incredibly visible and out in the open.
They got one thing right. A program is going down for this. They predicted Missouri. I think it will be Missouri State.
Where the hell is Matt Mitchell with SEC roll call week 8. It’s Wednesday already. I need my fix of Darth Mizz.
Stealing signals is the sporting world’s oldest profession. Who SERIOUSLY thinks teams wouldn’t try to do this when it is done in other sports?
This article from SI shows a video of Michigan apparently showing their defense that a pass was coming based on watching THE ohio state play call being changed in last year's game.
He is on Vaca with his fam. He said it would be late and nothing to do with this weeks games, because he didn't see any. LOL
Kind of a mixed bag of responses. First, there is a classic line that basically says, "if you aren't cheating, you aren't trying." There is a difference between being "noble" and being lazy. That IS life...and sports. The other is Dan Snyder. He was basically a dick and he was in many ways an embarrassment as an owner of a VERY lucrative franchise. Let's call him the "lovable loser" in the NFL fraternity. But then, he was found to have "cooked the books" as to what the other NFL teams receive in revenue. In other words, his "sin" wasn't just cheating, it was stealing from his fellow billionaires. Guess what, he is no longer the owner of the Commanders. There is cheating and then there is cheating.
Yeah, but since it was "SEC Shorts" who did it, it had to tie into the league. Missouri is "close" to Michigan in whatever. The theme is incompetence and not cronyism.
It is interesting how much better Missouri got so much better in one year, and their QB1 is light years further along and better than he was last year. I don't even remember watching him run last year. Now he's making plays with his feet? Something strange going on with that head coach, the evil nerd, and his football team.
If you watch the other sideline and they waive a receiver deep, that is not “stealing signals.” When you use video surveillance at games you are not part of to steal signals? That is cheating. Consider a married person watching porn versus nailing a porn star. You think they are the same? In football it is the technology inverse of that situation (paying attention in real life can be acceptable in football, but invading with technology is not). If “all is fair” in stealing signals, you would presumably be ok wit bugging the other teams locker room? Michigan flat out cheated here from the top down in a major way. It is not holding by an offensive lineman but more akin to kneecapping an opponent. There are levels of deceit and they crossed way beyond anything acceptable.
