are only conference games used, or the season as a whole?

Whatever helps Bama/UGA/LSU and/or hurts UF.

    In all seriousness… no idea.

I think is was 2017 that Nellie batted .400 in SEC games and wasn’t on the All SEC team (not first or second team). Overall his average was 100 points lower so I kinda figured they consider the entire body of work but not sure of that.

Remember this: In 2022, Wyatt Langford hit .365 with 26 HRs for UF. He was First Team All American for all colleges. First Team.

He was second team All SEC. The guy above him was a vandy player who hit <.300, I think .280 with far less HRs. But he was not on UF's team but Vandy which gave him extra credit.

If I was Sully, I would publish, if I could get my hands on it, the coaches who put vandy dude over WL.

Do UF players records get dinged for playing three games against FSU?

1994 NCAA Basketball Coach of the Year was Nolan Richardson
1994 SEC Basketball Coach of the Year was Lon Kruger

It is a different group of people voting for these things and often they just don't make any sense.

Was Billy D SEC coach of the year in the 2 NC years? I'll try to find that.

    He wasn't. Didn't win it until 2011.

Excellent question. In 2006, LSU's John Brady was named SEC COY by the SEC; Tennessee's Bruce Pearl was named COY by the AP. In 2007, Vanderbilt's Kevin Stalling was named SEC COY, with the AP naming Ole Miss' Andy Kennedy as COY. The ONLY time Billy Donovan got COY was in 2011, 2013 & 2014. Crazy, huh?

There's a pod I listen to that kind of spoke to this, and it sounds to me like Crews is a run away to win the award. Honestly it's pretty deserving as well, Langford is having a great season, but what crews is doing is historical. All of his stats are crazy but a couple just for reference BA is .487 OBP is .633 and 73 runs scored.

It's not putting Langford down for him not being mentioned, it's more of a credit to Crews that Langford is hitting .403 and is kind of the forgotten man outside of Gainesville.
