You’re saying they need to buy the rights to the CBS College Football music? When has that ever happen? Let’s hear their real music intro first before you start your bitching.
You'd be right in that assumption. However, even at 18yo, I didn't want to hear Hank Jr's version of "Hey Jude" (and I love Hank Jr.).
I think they could do the quotes and the sounds in the beginning than just have petty singing the refrain.
That was the argument. Not sure where you got the "buy the CBS song" angle, but just thought I'd clarify it for you. Maybe go revisit the thread, starting by listening to the song (Luke Combs singing Runnin' Down a Dream).
Watching those teams now is almost surreal. They were so, so good, and fun to watch. Best decade ever.
I lived in Hume in '81 and '82. There were some big music lovers in that place that would blast everything from Hatchet, The Clash, Foreigner, Journey, Leon Redbone, The Police, Petty, etc. It was a fun place but not a great place to study.
this thread was started with the SEC on ABC song. That is clearly what the title and thread is about. I didn’t even know it brought the sec network one until now. Did you even read the title???
All things considered, I thought it wasn't bad, and certainly could have been worse. The CBS theme will be missed.
I still can't believe no one has posted this here before me. This awesome theme song has a familiarity to it... I like it.
At least it's mostly done faithfully to the original. And count your blessings; it could have been Sean Combs, which is what my mind flipped to for a split second when I read the thread title.
