I don’t like seeing players get hurt, but when Beck went down I said out loud “that’s going to make it hard to shift gears in a Lamborghini”

What about that multimillion-dollar QB who transferred to UGA while suing Billy Napier? (I can't remember his name, I just remember that it rhymes with nada, or "nothing" in Spanish). I can just see him riding the bench behind Stockton for the rest of his "career." Where does he transfer or careen to now? Maybe he can set a transfer record before he's through.

Those gestures work. The SEC should start paying him, though, as a sideline ref. And he needs the extra money.

While I agree that Kirby is a whiny little b****, I think the broader point is correct: conference schedules were unbalanced this year and it favored certain teams and punished others. Not sure if Kirby should be the one crying here, but some teams had a much easier road than others.

Which raises the question, who exactly puts these schedules together. Does Sankey sit down and do it himself? Or do him and some of his SEC office workers sit down together and say, "What should we do and who should we do it to?"

He’s 4th string. If Beck (who reportedly has a torn UCL and will require Tommy John surgery) wouldn’t have come in for the last play Smart said freshman Ryan Puglisi would have played.

What? Why would Smart send in a healthy Puglisi instead of sending in Beck with an injured arm requiring surgery?

Sending in an injured guy instead of a healthy one is the definition of "smart."

Stupid decision, but unfortunately it didn’t cost him anything. They may be better off with Gunnar than Beck anyway.

I’m not Kirby, but sideline camera shots showed Beck taking snaps OK, just couldn’t throw. He was the leader of his team and I assume wanted to run the play.

Psychology could factor in. The team obviously rallied around Stockton. Don’t think their injured leader running out there didn’t fire the guys up? If so, good intelligent move by Smart.

You are correct, but Kirby wasn't winning all that much when he started getting top 5 recruiting classes.
