Thanks gal. I tried the live stream that I linked (I apologize to all), but the two student(?) commentators made it impossible to follow the game. I quickly returned here for your PBP.

 

Looking forward to watching the young guys and will emerge. Hoping pitching will be better and deeper than last.

 

Even though it’s not a lot of games, I think the UGA game in Jax and this DH we play vs Stetson in the fall are of great value both to the coaches and the players—especially our new guys. Getting your feet wet can cause some nerves for some and having this competition in the fall is invaluable for everyone.

Some of the Gator players had new numbers. It's coaches way of confusing those of us who keep score.

The number issue has been a regular thing since they started playing these fall exhibition games. Each fall, the players are issued practice jerseys with their numbers. A very small number, usually none, will change numbers by fall, but the exhibition number issue is unrelated. Those games are played in uniforms from the preceding year. Most were assigned to 2023 players, a few were not.

The result was that #12 was available for Peterson, but there was no #29 for Donay, so he wore #43.

Just in case anyone needs even more useless trivia, there is the size issue. Witmer, a big guy, got #25 this fall, a number worn by somewhat smaller Shiekhofer last season, while smaller Gomberg normally wears #17, previously worn by 6'7" Tejada. I don't think Witmer pitched, so I didn't see his number, but Gomberg wore #25.

Next, I plan to research who wore someone else's socks.

 

What happened to Evans? Is he on the bench?

 

Hurt. He did take bp today. First time I’ve seen him do anything other than warm up.

 

Ah, got it. Hopefully it isn’t too bad. Thanks paid.

 

Not bad. He’ll be back for winter/spring. If he’s not, it’s something new.
