So far.... South Carolina beat Vanderbilt Texas A&M beat Arkansas Alabama and Missouri battling it out - 57-51 Tigers w/15 min left to play....
Man, Missouri is ELITE this year. Maybe the best team in the SEC. Their record is almost FF worthy. Too bad they are playing at home and we had to play Bama away. Wait, what is going on? We played at home and Missouri's schedule is middling or worse than middling? How can that be??? Oh, I figured it out. Never mind. Gotta go and get some more bourbon.
Bama goes down to Mizzou 92-86. Difference was in the 3 point shooting. SEC road games are never easy!
#15 Texas goes down to unranked Okie lite......#6 Kansas goes down to #25 Texas Tech......#20 Colorado State goes down to unranked SD State.....
Ole Miss beats Hail State, LSU over Tennessee, KY over Georgia, and of course Auburn over the Gators in a battle! It was good day for Tigers apparently.... Current conference standings..... Auburn 3-0 - 14-1 Texas A&M 2-0 0.5 13-2 LSU 2-1 1 14-1 Kentucky 2-1 1 12-3 Alabama 2-1 1 11-4 South Carolina 1-1 1.5 10-4 Mississippi State 1-1 1.5 10-4 Ole Miss 1-1 1.5 9-5 Vanderbilt 1-1 1.5 9-5 Missouri 1-1 1.5 7-7 Tennessee 1-2 2 10-4 Florida 0-2 2.5 9-5 Georgia 0-2 2.5 5-10 Arkansas 0-3 3 10-5
Hope you don't mind I started a new thread for you: Who are we going to beat to get six wins? (for kbmcgill and bullish) | Swamp Gas Forums This thread is for discussion of scores and standings. Thanks!
Auburn with 4 clutch FT's pull out the win 81-77. Bama went 24/29 at the charity stripe tonight -- that has to be a team record! Unfortunately their 3 pt shooting was only 7/31. Hard to get everything clicking at once. In other games 78-66 the Wildcats over Vandy, 66-46 the Vols over SCe, and 67-51 aTm over Ole Miss. Current conference standings..... Auburn 4-0 - 15-1 Texas A&M 3-0 0.5 14-2 Kentucky 3-1 1 13-3 LSU 2-1 1.5 14-1 Tennessee 2-2 2 11-4 Alabama 2-2 2 11-5 Mississippi State 1-1 2 10-4 Missouri 1-1 2 7-7 South Carolina 1-2 2.5 10-5 Ole Miss 1-2 2.5 9-6 Vanderbilt 1-2 2.5 9-6 Florida 0-2 3 9-5 Georgia 0-2 3 5-10 Arkansas 0-3 3.5 10-5
I was expecting a win by Bama given they’d previously lost on the road and were at home. Really good road win by Auburn.
It was a very close game, as most expected. Bama had their chances, especially there at the end. The game is like that, though. This is why I never go berserk when my team loses. Winning basketball games only happen when all kinds of different things go your way. The least little thing can throw the rest off. Take our loss to Auburn. IMHO, it was the two missed free throws by McKissick there near the end when we had closed it to a 1 or 2 point game. After that, nothing went our way. I truly believe if he had made those - we would have won. But like I said - Bama killed it on FT's last night but what sunk them was the missed 3 pointers. Of course, you also have to give Auburn credit for being really good. They are deep too which adds a whole additional component to deal with.
3 conference games tonight, starting at 7pm ET. Ours with LSU of course (ESPN2), but also UGA at Hail State (SECN), and Mizzou at Arky(SECN). Arky needs a win and I expect that game to be a battle the same as I do ours.
