Here's another I don't get: Indiana State was ranked #23 today before losing to mighty Southern Illinois - yes, they lost to the Salukis (whatever in the heck a "Saluki" is ). Indiana State is 1-3 in Q1 games and got trounced by the only two real teams they played (Bama / Mich St). But they were ranked . . .
A Saluki is an Egyptian breed of dog. I know that because my undergrad school got beat by them in the NCAAs. We had a pretty good team, but their point guard was some guy named Walt Frazier
In KenPom, it's always the same: UT/Auburn/Bama at 5/6/7, in some order. What cracks me up: USCe at #55. Something that jumps out: they have the #5 "Luck" rating. As benchmark, we have the second highest luck amongst top 8 SEC teams at...#180. Also weird: Ole Miss is the ninth SEC team in KenPom. Their "luck" rating: #7. Crazy what swings there are in SEC. (Next after them is LSU at #290.)
Couple conference games on Tuesday....... 7:00 pm Arkansas - Texas A&M ESPN 7:00 pm Tennessee - Missouri SECN Then on Wednesday....... 7:00 pm Florida - Alabama ESPN2/ESPNU 8:30 pm Georgia - Vanderbilt SECN 9:00 pm Kentucky - LSU ESPN 9:00 pm Mississippi - Mississippi State ESPN2
FYI....both pretty good games right now! Mizzou at home....still in search of their first conference win.... 7:00 pm Arkansas - Texas A&M ESPN 7:00 pm Tennessee - Missouri SECN
A&M with a brutal home loss to Arky, they're definitely headed for the NIT barring a late season turn around. Aggies now 6-6 in the SEC, next game is @ Tennessee.
Aggies going to drop like a rock after that loss. They are probably going to have to win at Tennessee on Saturday to get back into the discussion. They are like 6-5 against Q1 too. They had set themselves up to have a great resume, but 2 Arkansas losses are brutal.
Creighton is up 21 on UCONn right now. Just a few days after UCONN set a record for the largest top 5 matchup win. it’s a funny game.
Creighton won by 19, their first ever win against a #1 ranked team. Good ole fashioned court stormin too.
Ok well stick a stock in my mouth cause BYU is working Baylor over up nine w 4 min left. BYU shoots well, plays with great effort and seldom fouls (according to the refs) against taller more athletic teams.
Final score: 85-66.....#15 Creighton knocks off UConn 85-66 for program's first win over a No. 1-ranked team
