How so- any examples? I the only one I've seen posted here as an upgrade in the portal is Slackman. Which I agree is an upgrade.
Its kinda tough to evaluate right now since UPenn doesn't exactly play a SEC schedule. Other big schools courting him is worth consideration, though. I'm a little worried about that wing and wonder if he'll be able to do much at all before Fall drills.
Scooby simply lacks the instincts you want at the position...I kept waiting for the light to come on but here we are 3 years into his time at UF. Wish him well, but I think this forces UF to get 1-2 LB in the portal and I feel like that will end up being an upgrade.
PFF had him as the lowest rated defender on our not good, very bad defense. Scooby was a liability, and that's putting it nicely. He will not be missed, but I'm sure this will add more fuel to the fire for the chicken littles.
It's too early to tell for sure but it's arguable since it looks like Bridges was brought in at Star to replace Hill, as Bridges is a bigger version with great versatility having played cornerback and safety, which will help for depth if Denson really develops and takes Star as his own.
Not overly concerned. Should see a portal linebacker coming in but even then feel ok about: Jaden Robinson Myles Graham Aaron Chiles comes in in the summer or id say him too. BUT to be safe Billy needs to bring in a good portal linebacker for sure
Sometimes I wonder if BN said he would accept this job only if he was guaranteed 5 years just because he thought he knew what size hill he had to climb. His record still doesn't excuse the on the field issues of disciplined play and lack of overall improvement. However, it just may mean the hill is bigger than he thought and he really needs more time to clear out whatever dead wood is left. I hope the incoming LBs can make an immediate impact this year.
