Me burning to death in the global south 1 week later than science anticipated: "glad I didn't give into the paranoia, that extra week of rolling coal was sick, bro!"
I know it’s not one single ice sheet, but this pretty much is awful: Metabolic and Kidney Diseases in the Setting of Climate Change, Water Shortage, and Survival Factors - PMC I was watching a program on some learning channel where they were discussing this and other issues as being driving factors for people fleeing equatorial areas.
Feel free to go on a website that deals with engineering issues if you want that technical analysis. What makes things hostile to human activities are jerks that only recognize or call out what isn’t there and do not discuss what is there. people have been hyperbolic about the threat of climate change. Germany is screwed because they stopped using nuclear power and are now dependent on Russian gas. I submit we make no such mistakes.
Which singular person did I call out? Yeah, that’s correct - no one. Are you insinuating religious zealots are bad? Hmmmm.
LOL. Fact checking you is like cow hunting with a machine gun.: "Germany imported no Russian natural gas in August 2024. To compare, in August 2022, the import volume of the named commodity stood at around 953 million cubic meters. Over the period observed, the highest figure was recorded at 5.2 billion cubic meters in December 2021." Germany gas imports from Russia monthly 2024 | Statista
The word hoax was used 3 times in this thread and none of them were from the OP. Just a bunch of piranhas sitting around waiting to pounce on anything that isn't lock step far left propaganda. The funny part is y'all wonder why you lost the presidency, senate and the house to a twice impeached felon and a bunch of "racist and bigotted" republican politicians.
1) Your OP was vapid and lacked any coherent thought, aside from “green energy bad.” 2) Germany’s issues are exacerbated due to a panic resulting in shutting down their fission reactors. None of this has to due with tweaking what’s effectively a mechanical model of a single glacier. At best, it’s cherry picking. At worst, it’s disingenuous. Continuing to equate evidence-based analysis resulting in many, many dire consequences with “religious zealots” in a transparently glib manner demonstrates you either don’t understand the former or think too highly of the latter.
Actually what is funny is poster's total inability to distinguish facts that don't conform to his predetermined agenda from actual propaganda and not recognizing the inanity therin. LOL
I remember my father telling me 70+ years ago, when I was a wee lad, that there is a strong strain of anti-intellectualism that has run through American society for many, many decades, This post is evidence of it.
You kind of glossed over this statement by the OP.: "The world is about to end" = religious zealot or climate change activist." That's close enough to "hoax" for government work. The left knows why it lost. We can educate our way out of it.
Nice red herring you got there. I’m speaking of a global issue, not one related to American voting patterns, and how trying to cherry pick something that’s not even trying to demonstrate or refute climate change as a way to cudgel is rather silly. If America’s specific reaction to climate change is to elect people who think it’s fake, then we deserve the physical and economic damage that’s already happening and likely to get worse.
Wow. You sure got me. May the burning collapse of your response light the way for greater understanding Germany's Energy Crisis: Europe's Leading Economy is Falling Behind https://www.cnn.com/2024/11/07/euro...,outdated physical and digital infrastructure.
Ah, yes, the broad brush stroke claiming something with not one scintilla of evidence for it. Now, that’s some strong intellectual power there. Nice touch with the dad story.
"Not one scintilla"? LOL. Nothing like going through life with such bias that one can't see the evidence. I wonder why it triggered you to write such a response My post was an observation about a small minority of people. I'm reminded of my mother saying something about "if the shoe fits....".
Man, I was going to give you some slack until that last line. Nuclear would not necessarily solve Germany's problems. They need that gas, which they use for chemical production, etc. and aren't getting in nearly the levels they did before the war. If anything, the Ukraine war is what drove the sacrifices, which were considerable. For instance, it isn't coincidence that BASF just moved a major part of its operations to LA. NG is basically free in the US.
we need to incorporate green energy but not kneecap our economy I can agree with this. We aren’t kneecapping the economy. If anything, cheaper energy from solar and wind is helping the economy. Get energy storage figured out and it gets better. Meanwhile, we need to get real serious about methane leaks. Easy to identify with new satellite and drone tech.
