Another example in which political leanings mattered. I know this is way off topic and concerns an event that occurred over twenty years ago but I do not recall any conservatives demanding the prosecution of Linda Tripp for recording her conversation with Monica Lewinsky regarding Lewinsky's relationship with Bill Clinton even though Maryland is a state that requires the consent of both parties for the recording of telephone conversations. In fact the late Ken Starr actually requested that the state not prosecute Tripp.

True, although most of our worst moments probably involved alcohol, drugs, and/or sex. None of which should be an issue in the workplace - well, at least workplaces where kids are present. Fair game in my office, of course.

You want to ban the word? Last time I checked it’s a free country.

The rule exists so students don’t crotch watch Netflix all day.

There is nothing inherently wrong with a phone. It can even be used constructively. Everyone logging into a Kahoot for example.

My school has the same rule. If a kid used one to stop a crime or protect themselves or anyone else from harm, I would nominate that kid for an award.

“Zero tolerance” is a term some power freak invented to run roughshod over society.

This kid righted a wrong. It affects the policy in zero ways and any school that just can’t figure out how to proceed here simply doesn’t want to.

This is CLEARLY not the harm the rule was intended to prevent. These school officials should encourage what she did under these facts, not punish it. Your little proverb is fine for teaching little children character lessons, adults need to know when to adapt as the situation dictates.

Yep, we are blessed to have friends from all political persuasions. Thankfully, most are not living in a world of "alternative facts".

I agree, and when the shoe is equally on the other foot, I want to see kids recording their teachers in all cases.

As a matter of principle we should be recording every classroom in America. And ever word these teachers say.

Your master demands that you to give him all of your money and possessions... you MUST comply!
