Correct me if I'm wrong but since when has the "Mega" resorted to violence? What you call "overthrow" the government was more like taking a tour. Was there violence? Was there gunfight? Was there machine guns? Bombs? Was any part of the building set on fire? Boarded up? Hostages taken?
Please tell me was it "MAGA" who stormed cities, set fire, looted, or destroyed property after the death of GF? I doubt those individuals voted republican. You say no one is above the law yet millions of undocumented unvetted illegal aliens have crossed our border. Those who created riots and mayhem many were not even convicted in fact many were applauded not by the republicans mind you.

It's sad we live in a country where the whole idea of make America great again is lampooned, where illegal aliens are taken care of better than many of our citizens, where lawlessness prevails, where cities want to defund policemen, where law and order in many areas are none existent, where patriotism is lambasted. If you think this nation is getting better under the likes of Biden, or what Newsom is doing in California then the old saying applies 'be careful what you ask for'.

Despite how many Trump supporters reportedly believe Democrats stole the 2020 election (while Trump was still in office, no less), they are happy about current polling. They also don't seem very worried about this year's election being stolen. Is it because they don't actually believe the last election was stolen?

My biggest problem with the poll is the language it uses. It requires us to to assume that because Trump won, the democracy hangs by a thread. And so how could you ask, or better yet, how can anyone answer, “there’s no threat to democracy,” when the poll presumes the threat in the questions?!?!

No doubt they have reason to be optimistic right now. However, that confidence only makes rational sense to me if they believe the polling data matter (not fake) and that the votes will be fairly cast and counted (election not rigged).

What kinds of tours do you take? I don't think I have ever been on one in which I was given a gas mask to deal with tear gas and a stick with which to beat cops.

If Trump is elected and attempts to implement the provisions of Project 2025 and and implement his proposals for across the board tariffs and a weaker dollar we could see the largest Democratic wave election since 1974 (+53 Democratic seats in the House) or even 1964 after which the Democrats ended up with 68 seats in the Senate and 295 seats in the House.

I haven’t read the whole thread yet, but I don’t get all the “come on mans.” People have been screaming for months that Trump is a threat to democracy. Many of them also acknowledge that he might win. So seems to be quite reasonable to put these two factors together and ask, what would be the appropriate course of action if he wins.

Empty rhetoric. And based on lies, for the most part. Did you know, more than 10,000 people were arrested over the George Floyd protests? To claim they got unequal treatment is nothing more than propaganda. Over 90% of the protests were peaceful. And the ones that weren't, the perpetrators got what they deserved.

So did the Jan 6 perpetrators that have been arrested. One doesn't need gunfire to do damage and be unlawful. Look at the pictures and watch the Jan 6 videos. What part of them are peaceful protests to you?

As for undocumented immigrants, unlawful entry and/or overstaying a Visa is a misdemeanor crime, punishable by deportation only. As far as violent crime goes, immigrants, including undocumented ones, commit less crime than citizens. There are also about 8 million undocumented immigrants in our workforce; many of them living here for over a decade without causing any problems. They aren't treated any better than citizens. In fact, they are treated worse because they aren't eligible for any of our safety net programs, despite working and paying taxes. As undocumented, unless the law changes, they will never be eligible either.

MAGA is a slogan. The reality is a movement to destroy American representative democracy and install Trump as Dictator. There's nothing patriotic about it. So peaceful!

So I guess you're a Trump supporter who thinks 2020 election was stolen? Do you think the polls giving Biden the edge in 2020 were faked? If you believe those things, are you very worried about the 2024 election being stolen from Trump? What course of action do you think would be appropriate if that happens?

Many were arrested but very little if any followup as to any jail time or consequences. Heck, today lots of criminals are arrested, but then released. But not so with Jan 6 individuals.

it is not known how many of the people arrested were locked up — an issue at a time when many of the nation’s jails are dealing with coronavirus outbreaks. The protesters are often placed in zip-ties and hauled away from the scene in buses.

In Los Angeles, an online fundraising campaign has gathered $2 million so far to help more than 3,000 people arrested in demonstrations since Floyd died on May 25 in Minneapolis.

It's not uncommon for protesters at an event that turns violent to be arrested, and later not charged with anything. But persons were charged. Over 300 already, with 120 convictions/guilty pleas to date. And again, the overwhelming majority of protests were not violent at all.

It allows for dissent from the assumptions of the question. Not everyone agrees that Trump is a threat to democracy.
