Bielma came all the way across the field ostensibly to check on an injured player but all the way there he was jawing at Beamer because Beamer was bitching to the refs about the intentionally slow substitution Bielma knew his trick had been successful as he was laughing once back on his sideline as he was talking about what he did. Was Bielma being ann ass- absolutely was beamer acting like an idiot and taking the bait-absolutely. For me this is on the officials for allowing ghe slow substitutions and for them not calling Bielma for taunting. Again, this did not cause SCe to lose- poor play calling and poor execution in the red zone is what costs SCe the game.
Oh I know you’d be thrilled by that. Coaches fighting is perfectly fine as long as it’s someone not like Deion, right?
Somebody has to be a jackass if they are fighting in the first place . Belemia shoulda got smacked in this instance.
If Bielema really wanted to hurt Deion, he could yank off Deion's sunglasses and stomp on them. Bielema could say, "Where do you think you are, in the Land of the Midnight Sun?"
Bielema would have to lose a few hundred pounds before he'd even have a chance and then he better make good on that chance, because Deion would handle him very quickly.
Bielema did much more than jaw. He mimicked the ref motion for illegal substitution as he walked over then again as he “checked” on his injured player right next to the usc sideline. If any coach had done that to Billy this board would have gone berserk. The refs should have thrown a flag for taunting. it was clear and egregious. But yes Beamer should have handled it better.
The taunt was certainly unprofessional, but I think Beamer brought some of it on himself by making late in the play clock player changes expecting the defense to not make a change. Bielema just called him on it by having guys ready to go sub when Beamer did that.
Beamer said postgame that it wasn’t about substitution. It was on the kickoff lateral trick player. The guy that received the kickoff used that signal but was faking.
